SEWANEE MOUNTAIN BACHELORETTE WEEKEND

We got home from our workcation late Thursday night and Friday morning we were greeted by our contractors to install our new countertops! I'll share more on that next week, once I am able to take some good pictures. Then Saturday morning I left bright and early for my best friend's bachelorette party, making a pit stop on the way to meet up with my other best friend, who was also going.

Since our kitchen was a MESS on Friday most of the day I ended up making the cupcakes for the weekend late that night. I woke up early Saturday morning to add the icing before leaving.

My childhood best friend is getting married at the end of March and we are so excited for them! She wanted to get away for the weekend and we had been looking forward to this weekend for awhile now. We stayed in the cutest cabin about an hour away in Sewanee Mountain. The cabin was the perfect size for the 6 of us.

We did her lingerie shower late Saturday morning after everyone arrived. The brunch theme was "pancakes and panties". One of the other bridesmaids thought of this and it was so cute!

Brunch was delicious and the shower was adorable. One of the bridesmaids made us all little goody bags for the weekend that included, a sweatshirt, temporary tattoos, and the cutest cups that all had "bride tribe" on them.

After brunch we all got ready and headed over to Foster Falls for a hike. It was a beautiful day and we could not have asked for better weather! Sunny and in the 60's.

We decided to hike to the bottom of the falls since we had time. It wasn't the biggest hike I've ever been on, but maybe the rockiest one!

Swinging bridge to get over to the falls.

On our way back to the cabin from our hike, we decided to make a little detour and see The Natural Bridge. Sarah had heard about it before and really wanted to see it since we were so close. Sarah is a teacher and has actually studied this with her kids before so it was fun actually getting to see it.

The temporary tattoos were a hit with everyone. They went on well and were a cute addition to the weekend!

We went to dinner Saturday night at High Point and the food was great. There is a lot of history in this restaurant as well! We made tons of pictures before we left for dinner since we were all dressed up.

Sunday morning we all packed up and headed our separate ways. It was a fun weekend and now we are counting down the days to her bridal shower and then WEDDING!

WORKCATION | PENSACOLA, FLORIDA

Matthew had to make a trip to Pensacola last week for work (Praise for clients near the coast!), so I tagged along with him....turning his work trip into a workcation!

It was definitely a lot cooler than we thought it would be. Monday was the only real warm day, reaching almost 70. The rest of the week was in the high 40's to low 50's.

In all honesty most of the day looked like this....working in the hotel room....

but I did high tail it over to the beach to eat my lunches and as soon as I finished up my work for the day.

I went to a couple of different beaches/beach accesses throughout the week, but I think my favorite one was the dog beach. I didn't even realize I was at the dog friendly beach access until after I arrived. There were dogs EVERYWHERE....so basically heaven on earth. I even made friends with this little fella names Haus. Sweet boy kept trying to climb up in my lap lol.

and then one day I had the whole beach to myself at lunch. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Then this guy showed up and joined me down by the water...

Another favorite beach area. The sand was bleach white and beautiful!
I saw a sign that said there was sand on the road, but didn't think much of it until I literally came up on it. Is it snow or is it sand? Definitely looks like snow haha!

Matthew and I did try some new restaurants and enjoyed alllll the good food! A few restaurants worthy of mentioning....

1. Crabs - delicious crab cakes
2. McGuire's Irish Pup - very large and popular restaurant in the area with great food!
3. Global Grill - This adorable restaurant is located in downtown Pensacola. The best steak we have ever had! Matthew went three years ago when he was in Pensacola for the same client and he has mentioned it often over the years. He said I had to try it and I can confirm his opinion on it. Their worcestershire sauce is homemade in house with over 70 ingredients in it. The steak was cooked to perfection in the homemade sauce and then served over garlic mashed potatoes. My mouth is watering thinking about it again- YUM!

One afternoon Matthew had to stay pretty late at the client so I decided to watch the sunset on the beach. Without a doubt one of my most favorite times to be at the beach.

It was a great week and I am so thankful I was able to tag along with Matthew on this trip!
