5 on Friday

I promise I will finish our wedding recaps next week, but since this week has been crazy I'll be joining in with 5 on Friday today.

ONE // This is our last "free" weekend until the end of October. Between a bachelor party, a concert, and weddings we are going to be busy and surrounded by family and friends, and WE CAN"T WAIT! Next Thursday afternoon when I get off is when it alllll starts and I am so excited. So this weekend we are going to get a lot of things done around town and at our apartment. Fingers crossed we get that last dining room chair painted lol.

TWO // In 15 days I will be going to the Ben Rector concert with my sister here in Nashville and we are counting down the days! We saw him back in 2013 when he came to Nashville, but missed his show last year. I completely missed when his tickets went on sale for the show on the 9th, but about flipped out when I found out they added another night because his first show sold out SO quickly. The day they went on sale I was at my computer, logged in, had our card information in, and had them in my cart ready to be bought. Matthew knew how important these were to me so he text me as soon as they went on sale and said he had been doing the same thing and had two in his cart to be purchased if I wasn't able to get them in time. SO, SO sweet of him!! Don't worry we didn't buy two sets of tickets lol. I told him I already had them and he cancelled out of his. I surprised my sister the following weekend with them because I just couldn't wait any longer. My sister and I love his music and listen to it ALL the time. Ben Rector was probably 85% of our wedding playlist, and I still listen to it every.single.day. He is just so good!
Fingers crossed we get to move seats like last time ;)

THREE // As soon as my best friend's wedding is over I am getting a much needed haircut! I love when my hair gets long but goodness, it's so thick and so much to deal with. I've been rocking the low messy buns a lot these past few weeks! It NEEDS to be cut, so many dead ends, it's embarrassing.
Here is what I'm thinking, length wise.

FOUR // We used out crockpot yesterday for the first time and it was literally like a whole new experience lol. I have used my old crockpot plenty of times but this one is just wonderful. We got it for our wedding and love it! I'll be sharing the recipe next week, but if you are following me on Instagram, then you should have already been able to get the recipe.

FIVE // Thanks to Ashley over at Hanging with the Hirsts I was informed by some of her previous posts that Target had their shoes buy one get on 50% off. I have been looking for some nude shoes for Kathleen's wedding next weekend and found these
they are only $16.99 and since they were buy one get one 50% off I grabbed these, too!
My sister bought the tan pair last fall and I absolutely LOVED them and wore them when I came home, so I knew they would go with most of my outfits and how they feel. I love wearing flats and love this tan color. They are really comfy and don't leave my feet aching after wearing them all day.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

WE WERE SO CLOSE

Sorry for being MIA but ya girl had a huge midterm Tuesday night and I have been sick and sleeping most of the days away.
Tuesday I woke up feeling pretty gross but went to work anyway. By lunch I was miserable and just wanted to crawl in bed and sleep. I ended up leaving work early and going back to the apartment and taking a nap and woke up to get some last minute studying done.
The Fray came to Tech Tuesday night also and it was free to all of us students.
The Fray. Concert. Free.
Uh yes please!! Matthew and I got our tickets the day they started handing them out and I had been looking forward to it. By time I got out of my test Tuesday night all I wanted to do was crawl back in my bed and sleep for hours. We decided not to go to the concert, still a little heartbroken over missing it but there was no way I could go.
I woke up Wednesday with a fever and have been running one every since.
I uploaded this to my Instagram on Wednesday and it's 100% me.

and I just had to brag a little on Facebook about my sweet man. So blessed to have you, M!

So while I am on Advil and not running a fever I want to share with you about last Friday night!!
If you read my post on Friday then you know I went to see Ben Rector at the Ryman in Nashville.
My parents got my sister and I tickets to see him and what a treat it was!
Such a fun night and perfect sister date.
We ate at Chili's (2 for $20 what what!) in Murfreesboro to avoid all the downtown craziness in Nashville and then headed down there.
Now let me share a little secret with you...
I have never driven in downtown Nashville at night let alone a FRIDAY NIGHT.
If you have been to Nashville on a weekend night then you know what I'm talking about if not I'm sure you heard stories. I wish I had taken a picture but I was so stressed out trying to get there and not wreck.
We pulled into the parking lot of the Ryman and I was so relieved but then I saw the sign valet parking $15
uh no thank you I will park my own car for free and walk but then the guy comes up to my window and tells me our parking is free courtesy of Nissan. Driving a Nissan never felt better :)
I hopped my happy butt out and let him take my car.
We get to our seats and just our luck we are pretty much behind a column. Awesome but we were going to make the most out of it and just scoot out into the isle a little so we can see the opening act. Well the little old guy who was the usher was not going to let that happen, every time we leaned over a little bit to see he came and told us to get back in our row. I tried to stay positive and remember he was just doing his job.
The opening act...Tyrone Wells.
Look him up.
or better yet just listen to this video I got from YouTube.
He was great and I remembered I have heard him on Pandora before!!
He did a meet and greet before Ben Rector went on stage so Mady and I ran out there and got in line.

We go back to our seats and ole Ben came out and was amazing.
I gave Mady my phone and told her to go up closer and make a better picture.
 Well she didn't come back...
about five mins later she did and she was all excited and told me there were 2 seats in the FOURTH row that no one was in. So when he starts his next song we casually walk up there to "make a picture" NOT.
We slid in those seats and I asked the cute little old ladies behind us whose seats we were in and she said NO ONE HAD BEEN THERE.
You better bet we stayed there...we were so close I could see the sweat on his upper lip.
Dying y'all I was dying.

Now for an overload of pictures :)

Loved this poster and I would have loved it to have it to hang in my room but I just couldn't justify paying $20 for it so a pic will do instead :)

Waiting for it to start

Get it ole Benny boy

Loved all the different lightening

Seriously, probably the only other person who loves him as much as I do.
Thankful for the relationship I have with my sister.

 Nashville y'all.

and then he posted this on his Instagram

3500k volts later...

This weekend flew by just like every other weekend but it was a great one at home!

My dad's birthday was on Saturday. Every year since I can remember my dad and I have always had joint birthdays with the family since they are so close together.

I got a good amount of money, gift cards, candles and earrings!

And then I pulled this out of the gift bag

A TASER.
Not only did I not know how to work it but it seriously scared me to no end!!!!
After everyone got a good laugh at the look on my face and my reaction my dad showed me how to use it (not on anyone, of course)
Even know that I know how to use it the cute lil thing scares me, haha!

and then the best gift of all...

TICKETS TO SEE BEN RECTOR LIVE AT THE RYMAN IN NASHVILLE!!!!

So so excited I can't even stand it!! I listen to his beautiful voice every morning on Pandora and when my sister pulled those tickets out I about pee'd my pants.

Needless to say we are pretty excited!!

Also on Saturday was Matthew's grandmothers birthday and so we took her a sonic milkshake!

She is just so precious and look at those purple pants!! PURPLE PRIDE for TTU football season of course ;)
