WEEKEND RECAP | CHATTANOOGA + RETIREMENT PARTY

We drove down to Chattanooga after I got off last Friday afternoon to see my BIL and SIL. They moved into a new house a couple of months ago and our crazy schedules have kept us from going to see it. Their house is beautiful and in the cutest neighborhood. We got there late afternoon and ate dinner at their house. After dinner we watched Girls Trip. It was hilarious and definitely a good movie if you're looking for a good laugh.

Saturday we went to Tremont Tavern for lunch and it was such a fun atmosphere. I got the pimento cheeseburger and it was delicious.

After lunch we visited for a little bit longer before packing up and heading home. My best friend's family was throwing her dad a retirement party and we were excited to celebrate him!

The party was held at Carriage Lane Inn and it was truly a beautiful and fun night. I am so thankful for a best friend's family who is like my own.

My best friend's husband and his grandfather and brother played some bluegrass music for everyone. They were so good!

How cute is this picture of Matthew and sweet baby Millie?!?!?!? All the heart eyes.

COATS WEDDING #3

I'm really behind on blogging, but I couldn't let my BIL's wedding weekend recap fall through the cracks. So here is a belated recap!

Matthew was in Knoxville all week for work so he met me in Chattanooga Friday afternoon just in time for their rehearsal dinner. I worked half a day at the office and then headed home to pick up baby girl before hitting the road. Reagan was excited for a road trip!

They rehearsed and as you can see my other BIL, Nathan, was taking things real serious ;) and had us all laughing!

My in-laws hosted their rehearsal dinner at a hibachi grill in Chattanooga and it was delicious! After dinner we decided to all go get frozen yogurt. It had been a long time since we had frozen yogurt and I forgot how good it was.

That night was the first night Reagan stayed in a hotel and it was pretty rough. She heard every little noise and was woken up so easily throughout the night. So it looks like we just need to go on more trips and take her so she can get some more travel/hotel experience. ;)

Saturday morning we headed to the church so the guys could get ready for the big day. I hung out with my SIL, Jenny, and the bride while she got ready!!

A few hours later it was time for the wedding, and it was beautiful! I can't wait to see the pictures soon. I didn't take any pictures of their actual wedding, but we took some after and at the reception.

While the bride and groom were taking pictures we realized that we all forgot to buy window markers to decorate their car. Thankfully there was a Dollar General across the street from the church so we booked it over there to grab them. Dollar General for the win!

After pictures we headed to the reception venue, and it was gorgeous!

Sister picture!

and sibling/couples picture!

It was a great weekend celebrating Andrew and Christina, and we are so happy for them!!

and stole this picture off their Facebook, because it's just too cute not to!

And just like that the Coats family is complete!

WEEKEND RECAP

Our weekend kicked off when we hit the road to Chattanooga Friday afternoon. We stopped and got Chick-Fil-A for the road and we quickly realized it had been too long since we last had it.
I always appreciate when companies use pretty fonts on their advertisements, I am a self proclaimed font snob and will definitely be drawn in to an advertisement a lot quicker if it has pretty font lol.
So when I saw an Aldi truck on our road trip, I quickly pointed it out to Matthew.

Saturday afternoon was my BIL's engagement party and we had a great time! The weather was wonderful so people were able to play some outside games after we ate dinner.

TWO months from today Jenny and I get another sister, woo hoo!
 Siblings-couple-picture!

Sunday after church we cleaned the house and did yard work all.day.long. but it's all finished and we got A LOT done!

And last, but certainly not least, hockey season is over, and it wasn't the outcome we all hoped for here in Nashville. It was a heck of a season and The Preds proved to everyone and themselves that they could make it this far...I mean it is almost the middle of JUNE and we were still watching The Pred's play!!!! But that's okay, they'll be back and until then we'll keep standing with them!
Also, this post....ALL THE FEELS. I just really love this city and the past few weeks have been absolutely incredible seeing everyone in navy and gold and coming together to watch the playoff games. There is so much pride in this town for our boys and I am already excited for next season!

Weekend trips are the best trips

Matthew's older brother recently bought a house in Chattanooga. He has been there a little over a year and decided to get out of renting and find a house. Well this weekend I was finally able to see it, and I loved it! It's in a nice and quiet neighborhood and he has plenty of space!

We met Matthew's brother and parents in Murfreesboro for dinner and to get Nathan, so he could ride to Chattanooga with us. We got to Chattanooga pretty late Friday night so we got a little tour of his house, talked and then crashed for the night.

Saturday we they helped him move some last big things from his apartment and then went downtown for lunch and walked around. I love walking on their bridges in Chattanooga and getting to see all the pretty views.

and I love the Snap Chat has filters for different areas.
HAAAAY Walnut Street Bridge ;)

One of our friends from Tech is going to school in Chattanooga now and just moved in his new apartment so he joined us for lunch.
We ate at Genghis Grill downtown. It was my first time eating there and it was pretty good. The small size bowl is still too much for me, but would make a great second meal. I think I seasoned it a little too much, so next time I will go easier on the sauces lol.

Saturday night we went over to one of Andrew's friends house for dinner and a movie. They actually knew them from college. Kayla and I have been friends on social media for awhile now after meeting briefly the last time I was in Chattanooga. She had posted a picture of their new farmhouse table that her husband built them a little bit ago so when I realized we were going to their house for dinner I got really excited to see it.

Here are a couple of pictures of it that she posted on her Pinterest

Don't you just love it?! Matthew and I have been looking up plans for farmhouse tables every since we left their house Saturday night! Matthew and I both agreed that we would love to have a farmhouse table in our house one day!! Also, Kayla and Allison both told me they read my blogs along with other ones (Hiiiiiiii Kayla and Allison!!), how fun!

We went to church Sunday morning and then to Old Chicago Pizza for lunch. Y'all we ate well on our trip ;) I haven't been to Old Chicago in years and had forgotten how good it was. My mouth is watering thinking about those huge slices of pizza now! After lunch we packed our stuff up and headed out soon after that.

It was a great weekend and I am so glad we got to finally see Andrew's house! Such an exciting time for him!

weekend trips

ARE MY FAVORITE.
I absolutely love traveling and getting out of town for a little bit even if it's only for the weekend. There is so much to see and I love exploring a new town. Matthew's brother recently moved to Chattanooga and began working this past May and I was finally able to go down and see him and his new apartment. Matthew has been a few times this summer.

Matthew picked me up from work on Friday and we headed out as soon as I got off. We made it to Chattanooga around 6:00 their time, they are an hour ahead of us.

We got there and went to dinner and then made a quick stop by the store. We didn't do much Friday night, just rode around and took it pretty easy. We enjoyed this beautiful sunset as we drove around.

Saturday we woke up and all made breakfast and then Matthew had to study for awhile. After he finished we watched tv for a little bit and then headed out. We drove all over Chattanooga looking at everything. Seriously, one of the prettiest places. Everywhere you look there are mountains, I can only imagine what it's going to look like in the fall.

We came back to his apartment and had a late lunch. Andrew grilled chicken and made asparagus.
Fun Fact: That was the first time I had ever tried asparagus and I actually liked it!! Matthew thought it was okay, so I am going to work with it some in the future to see if I can't get Matthew to like it even more ;)
Snapped a quick pic of my man ;)

Saturday night we went to a Lookouts game! It started at 7:15 but we got there about an hour early since it was our first time going. They did an ALS ice bucket challenge, a couple of people got to get up and throw the first pitch and then a girl got up and threw a pitch and the catcher caught the ball and walked up to her and took his helmet off and proposed to her. It was very sweet and she looked very surprised!

My dinner, we won't even talk about how many calories I consumed from it.

The sunset was incredible!! And behind that scoreboard? More Beautiful mountains.

It was a really good game and very close!

Sunday we woke up and went to church at his new church and it was very nice! Everyone was really friendly and they had a good size class, even a few single girls around Andrew's age ;) After, we ate at a Chinese place they liked and then Matthew and I headed back to Cookeville.

We ran into some pretty nasty weather on the way back but we made it just fine! You can't really tell from this picture but you could see the rain off in the distance before we ran into it.
Weekend trips are the perfect getaway and always so fun! A huge thank you to Andrew for hosting us this weekend, we really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back!!!!
