Watching...Friday Night Lights, still! I am finally on season five. Love me some coach Taylor ;)

Drinking...Spark! Fruit punch flavor, it is SO good!

Enjoying...This season of life. I mentioned yesterday how things are going to be changing soon and a new chapter will begin. I remember Matthew always talking about how fun intramurals were and how big of a deal they were to everyone here at Tech. I am so glad I am able to experience them now with him and everyone else. From long distance for three years to finally being in the same town, God knew better than we did (as always) and we couldn't be more grateful! Soaking up every second of Matthew's last semester here in Cookeville.
Our new intramural shirts ;)

Wishing...I had a few more hours to sleep in this morning ;)

Needing...to clean my apartment.

Loving...These sunsets lately!! There are probably 30 pictures of sunsets in my camera roll right now but Tennessee has some of THE best sunsets :)

Excited...for the singing tonight! This semester we have started having a singing every other Wednesday night at the SOC house after church. It is incredible. There is nothing better than singing praises with 30+ people in a small house.

Doodling....Lately I have been cranking out one or two random ones a day. Here is one I did the other day. It took a little longer to make than I expected but I loved it. I have learned this helps pass the work day a little faster ;)

HAPPY OCTOBER!
Today starts the best three months of the year, in my opinion ;)

{5 on Friday}

Can we just take a minute and appreciate the fact that it is finally Friday (& almost the weekend!!!!)
This feels like it has been the longest.week.ever.

//ONE//
Yesterday I came across this picture and couldn't believe it has been almost 4 years that this was taken!! This was taken on the day Matthew and I started dating.

//TWO//
I saw this the other day and loved it. This is so true. We need to stop trying to be like everyone else and be more like Christ, myself included. this is something we can always work on and pray about daily.

//THREE//
The crew!!
We are going to be so sad to see Andrew go in a little over a week.

//FOUR//
Our SOC boys intramural softball championship was last night and they WON!!
Here is Matthew batting! This was his last intramural softball game :( Next year at this time, Lord willing, he will have a job!!
 SOC guys!!
 Some of the fans watching!!

//FIVE//
You might agree with this or you might disagree, it's your opinion, but I definitely agree with this. I don't know statically about the second part of this but I honestly believe it takes 2-4 years to really get to know someone. I don't know about you but if I am going to marry someone I want to REALLY know them before I commit the rest of my life to them. At the end of this month Matthew and I will have been dating 4 years and I still learn something new about him all the time.
I am thankful we have decided to date awhile before we get engaged.

//HAPPY FRIDAY//

5 on Friday

Can I just say how happy I am that it is Friday? This week has been the longest and I didn't Friday would ever get here. Work has been rough but I am thankful for having a job that pays well.

One//
 I woke up this morning to a crazy loud storm. The lightening was SO bright and the thunder was so loud it jarred things on my bedside table. It was over by time my alarm went off and I got up and started getting ready for work and packing to go home this weekend and then it thundered one more time and there went our electricity...nothing like getting ready in the dark to start out your day. It's still gloomy and raining but I'm hoping the temperatures stay warm

Two//
Last Saturday night we watched Captain Philips and it was a good movie! It started out kinda slow but definitely made up for it and was pretty intense. There were a couple of actors in the movie that were just plain creepy. Especially this guy holding the gun something about his eyes were just creepy, when he got mad they would get HUGE.

So lil ole buddy of mine, Ethan, thought it would be funny to send this a couple of times...
RIGHT BEFORE I WENT TO SLEEP.

Three//
 The weather this week was PERFECT! It was actually almost hot. We turned the heat off early this past weekend (thank goodness because I am not all about paying these high utilities bills). Matthew grilled Monday and Tuesday and it was delicious. We went to Cane Creek Park and got a good walk in
and had this incredible view

Four//
It rained Wednesday night so our softball game got cancelled last night because the fields were still too wet so we decided to go out to the soccer fields and just play a little and it was a lot of fun! I love nights like last night!!

Five//
Tuesday night Matthew grilled pork chops and we had dinner with his older brother and then headed over to the SOC house to meet some friends. We all headed over to campus to hear Dr. Oldham, the president of Tennessee Tech, speak. It was pretty good. We thought it was going to be longer and a little more but it was just a Q&A with the audience. Dr. Oldham is a member of the church so it was nice to hear his views on different topics and how he juggles his faith and work at the same time.

After that was over Matthew took us on a little tour of the building where all his accounting classes are and I finally got to see where he worked for about 2 years, in the business media center.
This was Matthew's desk and that otter costume to the left of him...he had to wear that a few times!!!!
They promoted seat belt safety to elementary school children all over Tennessee. He would travel and talk to a couple of schools at a time. Most of the time he did the talking and someone else dressed up as Ollie the Otter but there were a few times were he was Ollie! The kids loved it and LOVED going to get their picture made with Ollie and to give him a high five. Precious.  It was fun seeing where he worked!

Have a great weekend!! :)

weekend recap

This past weekend was so good!
I'm gonna start out with Thursday night though because we had our first intramural softball game!!

it was absolutely freezing and pouring down rain the whole time but it was still SO much fun!
We played great and only lost by 1 run. We have another game this Thursday night and I am PUMPED.

Friday night we had game night with some of my coworkers and it was a blast.
We had a delicious dinner and great dessert and then played a couple of different games!
It was so fun, my sides were hurting from laughing so much when we left

We used the good ole self timer ;)

Saturday I woke up pretty early and was in the cleaning mood so I cleaned my room and straightened up the apartment as much as I could and had laundry almost finished by 9:30. I was in a productive mood despite the pouring down rain and gloomy clouds. I went by the grocery store and picked some things I needed and then headed to Matthew's apartment. We binged watched HGTV and then decided to go see a movie, we wanted to see God's Not Dead since we have heard so many good things about it but after spending 10 minutes looking for a parking spot we decided to leave. Of course everyone had the same idea since it was STILL pouring down rain. So we decided to get with some friends and make Mexican and watch a movie at the SOC house. We watched Captain Phillips...GREAT movie! It started out kinda slow but definitely got better.

Sunday Matthew's parents surprised us by coming up to Cookeville and going to church with us and taking us to lunch! We had no idea they were even there until after church when we read their names up on the screen showing all the visitors. So fun!

The weather this week is supposed to be in 70's ALL week long and I am LOVING it!!!! I am going to soak as much of it up as I can!

T-minus 6 hours

When I get off today I am headed straight to pick Matthew up and we are headed back to the boro for Thanksgiving break!! Although it's not very long it's still 4 days at home :)

Last night was a good one. Class ended after about an hour, we made it to church on time (we had our Wednesday service on Tuesday night this week since everyone will be traveling starting today), our boys won the volleyball championship and we decorated the SOC house for Christmas!!

Congrats boys!

and a few pictures of the Christmas decorations...

 We turned on Pandora and listened to Christmas music to help get us in the Christmas spirit

Please ignore the fact that I look like I gained 10 pounds in one night, I had about 3 shirts on under that sweatshirt lol. I am still trying to adjust to the cold weather up here!!
I packed everything up last night and it is ready to go as well! Yesterday while at work I made out a packing list for me and Matthew. I am still trying to decide on what I want to wear on Thanksgiving. By Friday night I will have had SIX Thanksgiving meals.
1. Friendsgiving
2. Thanksgiving lunch at work
3. Thanksgiving lunch with the SOC ($3 Tuesday)
4.Thanksgiving lunch with Matthew's Family on Thursday
5. Thanksgiving dinner with my family on Thursday
6. Thanksgiving lunch at my Mema's on Friday.
Abundantly blessed y'all.

We were supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow last night but when I woke up this morning and looked outside it looked like it had missed us but as of right now it is coming down pretty good and our cars are starting to turn a little white!
Praying for safe travels for everyone over the next few days.

I think I am going to brave the crowds yet once again this Black Friday and get some shopping finished. For the past 3 years Matthew has gone with me and he has agreed to go again this year!! He says he doesn't want me going shopping alone with all the crazy crowds but I think he secretly likes all the good deals.

I do also have a few things on my to-do list to cross off over break...
1. Get everything for Matthew's graduation party (17 DAYS Y'ALL)
2. Get his graduation present :)
3. Finish Christmas shopping
4. Clean out my inbox
5. Finish editing some pictures
6. Finish reading Crazy Love for the second time
7. Get all of my Christmas decorations down from the attic to bring back to Cookeville
8. Decorate the house for Christmas before I leave
*and of course enjoy my time home with all my family**

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and are able to enjoy the time with your loved ones!! :)

Life is sweet, go have fun

we had our first intramural doubles match Tuesday night. Now if you know us then you know Matthew is the tennis pro and well, I'm just not. All afternoon I kept telling Matthew how nervous I was and he just kept telling me to go have fun. Y'all I did just that. We played an hour and a half and I had a ball the whole time. Even though we lost in a tie-breaker 8-8 (7-4) Matthew played his little heart out and I tried haha. If you can't laugh at yourself you just aren't living people!!
Life is sweet, go have fun.
