SEWANEE MOUNTAIN BACHELORETTE WEEKEND

We got home from our workcation late Thursday night and Friday morning we were greeted by our contractors to install our new countertops! I'll share more on that next week, once I am able to take some good pictures. Then Saturday morning I left bright and early for my best friend's bachelorette party, making a pit stop on the way to meet up with my other best friend, who was also going.

Since our kitchen was a MESS on Friday most of the day I ended up making the cupcakes for the weekend late that night. I woke up early Saturday morning to add the icing before leaving.

My childhood best friend is getting married at the end of March and we are so excited for them! She wanted to get away for the weekend and we had been looking forward to this weekend for awhile now. We stayed in the cutest cabin about an hour away in Sewanee Mountain. The cabin was the perfect size for the 6 of us.

We did her lingerie shower late Saturday morning after everyone arrived. The brunch theme was "pancakes and panties". One of the other bridesmaids thought of this and it was so cute!

Brunch was delicious and the shower was adorable. One of the bridesmaids made us all little goody bags for the weekend that included, a sweatshirt, temporary tattoos, and the cutest cups that all had "bride tribe" on them.

After brunch we all got ready and headed over to Foster Falls for a hike. It was a beautiful day and we could not have asked for better weather! Sunny and in the 60's.

We decided to hike to the bottom of the falls since we had time. It wasn't the biggest hike I've ever been on, but maybe the rockiest one!

Swinging bridge to get over to the falls.

On our way back to the cabin from our hike, we decided to make a little detour and see The Natural Bridge. Sarah had heard about it before and really wanted to see it since we were so close. Sarah is a teacher and has actually studied this with her kids before so it was fun actually getting to see it.

The temporary tattoos were a hit with everyone. They went on well and were a cute addition to the weekend!

We went to dinner Saturday night at High Point and the food was great. There is a lot of history in this restaurant as well! We made tons of pictures before we left for dinner since we were all dressed up.

Sunday morning we all packed up and headed our separate ways. It was a fun weekend and now we are counting down the days to her bridal shower and then WEDDING!

WELCOMING EVELYN KYNDNESS

I got to be a part of and witness one of the most incredible moments of my life, my best friend welcomed her precious daughter, Evelyn Kyndness, into this world at 12:40pm last Thursday afternoon.

See the baby shower I helped host for her a couple of months ago, here.

I'll back up to February of this year. I met my two best friends for dinner and Kathleen surprised us and told us she was pregnant and due in September. Needless to say we were shocked and beyond THRILLED. She also asked me if I would be in there with her and her husband during the delivery to make pictures....!!!!!! I was even more surprised and so honored that she would want me to be a part of a special moment, of course I said yes. We have been best friends since third grade, we've been in each other's weddings, been on vacation together, and we have done just about every step of life together. I am so thankful for her friendship!

On to last Thursday....she was induced bright and early at 5:00am and I arrived at the hospital around 6:30. Her family was there and I got started on taking pictures of details and we all hung out in her room chatting all morning. Around lunch I went down to the cafe with her brother to grab lunch when her husband called and said I needed to come back up to her room, she was fixing to start pushing. Thankfully I booked it back up there because Evelyn was here 25 minutes later!!!!
Kathleen did so incredibly well and is a total rockstar. Her husband was right there encouraging her and after 20 minutes of pushing, their baby girl was here.

9 lbs 5 oz. 21.75 inches and absolutely perfect in every way.

The prettiest sunrise on my drive to the hospital Thursday morning

Truly one of the sweetest moments and I have a ton of respect for all you mama's out there!

The rest of the day went by quickly and by late afternoon I got to hold her for the first time and on Friday night Matthew got to meet her and hold her too! Kathleen and Matthew grew up together as well, so it was a sweet moment for all.

The prettiest sunset on my way home Thursday afternoon

We are so incredibly happy for our best friends and so incredibly thankful that Evelyn is here and HEALTHY!

WEEKEND RECAP | NEW PIERCING + CHRISTMAS CARD PICTURES

Thursday night we skipped Reagan's training class and went to Matthew's alma mater for their annual steak dinner! It was a fun night with delicious food and a great speaker.

Saturday we woke up early and had a nice slow and relaxing morning. I made biscuits and gravy with eggs and we watched a few episodes of Friends. Later that day Matthew met his family for lunch while I ran to the store and grabbed some things for dinner that night, My parents came over and my dad pressure washed our driveway and helped finish the wallpaper in our bathroom. I'll share pictures soon, we are so thrilled to have it finished!!!! My dad did such a good job and we so appreciate all his hard work! We already had Christmas card pictures scheduled so Matthew, Reagan and I snuck away for a couple of hours for that. We just got them back and I am in LOVE. Here is a picture I snapped quickly before we got ready to go. Later that afternoon I made my parents dinner and surprised my dad with his favorite dessert, chocolate lasagna!
I am obsessed with this top. It is cute and extremely comfy.

Sunday we were back in our comfy clothes after church and lunch for the afternoon, and it was so nice to relax all day. Around 9 Sunday night I got a random burst of energy and meal prepped for a couple of meals/lunches before calling it a night. It definitely made Monday morning so much easier.

Monday after work Matthew and I headed to Murfreesboro for a few hours. I had plans to meet my two best friends, Kathleen and Sarah, for dinner so Matthew decided to eat dinner with his parents.
The girls and I decided last minute to get our cartilages pierced, so random, but so fun. We had all wanted our cartilages pierced but just never went by ourselves so when Sarah mentioned it Kat and I were on board super quick.

We all ended up getting our left ear pierced. It didn't hurt too bad, but it was pretty sore the next day, and they said it would be for awhile. Look at our red ears lol!
After that we went to dinner and then headed to get ice cream. We decided to try the new ice cream place in town, where they roll the ice cream. It was definitely interesting and fascinating watching them do it. I got strawberry with caramel and it was pretty good! It was a fun night and a great way to end a crazy Monday.

Friendsgiving is THIS weekend and we are getting excited and finishing up some last minute details.  We wait to have everyone over!

Also, who has decorated for Christmas already? We haven't yet, and I am trying to be patient since we are hosting Friendsgiving this weekend, but I am more than ready to decorate!!

How about you?
Do you like to decorate early or wait until after Thanksgiving?

WILSON COUNTY FAIR | 2017

After almost 25 years, I finally made it to a county fair! We decided to go after our Summer Soiree since we were all together and it was opening weekend. One of our friends knows the Wilson County Fair really well, he's been going every year for a long time and has showed a couple of his animals there before.

This thing was MASSIVE!

The fair food was delicious and 100% awful for us, but completely okay because we were at the fair!

The best date to the fair!

We had fun, experienced fair food, fair people, a crowd, a monkey riding a dog (lol), a tractor pull, and a ton of other things you experience at a fair. 1st time at the Wilson County Fair was a success!

VALENTINE'S DAY | 2017

Our second married Valentine's Day is in the books and it was so sweet and fun, and since this is my online scrapbook/diary I wanted to document it.

I loved seeing everyone's Valentine's Day posts yesterday, they were all so sappy and sweet and I LOVED them! I had planned on waking up early and making Matthew a special Valentine's Day breakfast, but our alarm didn't go off for some reason so we over slept a little bit, so sadly we didn't have time for a breakfast together. I told him I would make it up to him this weekend!

After work Matthew picked me up at my office and our best friends, Ethan and Rachel, met us as well and we all headed to dinner. Matthew and Ethan got together back before Christmas and planned to take me and Rachel to see the play, The Sound Of Music, at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) here in Nashville on Valentine's Day. So when I opened my stocking on Christmas I found the tickets and we have been counting down the days since then!

We ate at Amerigo, a delicious Italian restaurant, that we all love (and go to often lol) for dinner and then headed downtown for the play. Rachel's mom was able to get us a parking pass in the parking garage (for free!) right across from TPAC, which was absolutely great because it was pouring down rain after the show. We had plenty of time after dinner before the show started so we walked around the capitol hotel/building and grabbed a few pictures!

The play was absolutely incredible and now I want to watch the movie again! I could not get over how beautiful the backdrops were throughout the entire show. I love The Sound of Music movie with Julie Andrews, and now that I have seen the play I love it even more. I also want to watch the one that Carrie Underwood did a few years ago.

It was a wonderful show and we had the best time! Matthew gave me a beautiful necklace for Valentine's Day and I gave him a new phone case and new toiletry bag. Matthew definitely went with a traditional Valentine's Day gift and I went for the more practical-non-romantic gift this year lol.

I love you always and all ways, Valentine!

CHRISTMAS | 2016

And just like that our second married Christmas is over! I am so sad to see it go but had the best time with my sweet husband, adorable puppy, and all of our family. This will be a picture heavy post, so get ready!

Christmas "break" started for me early Thursday afternoon once I turned my out of office on and darted out the door. I met my best friend at my house and we went for a Smoothie run and then finished up some Christmas shopping! After that Matthew and I grabbed dinner and then went shopping for our girl...we may have gone a little overboard, but it was her first Christmas!! Some of that stuff was for our other puppy friends, too ;)

Friday morning we woke up and did our Christmas together since we would be spending the rest of the weekend with family. It was the sweetest morning with the fire and Christmas music going. Reagan was our big Christmas present to each other this year, but we decided to do stocking stuffers and of course, we did a little extra. We just can't help it!! :) We let Reagan open her gifts first and it was just THE best. She was so excited and we could not stop laughing at her. We wrapped a couple and then left a couple in her stocking for her to pull out.
Also, we have completely come to terms with how crazy we are about our girl...no shame!
Safe to say, girly had a great first Christmas!! She was also spoiled by our families :)

After she opened her presents Matthew and I exchanged gifts. Matthew's stocking was filled with Pred's stuff, some new headphones and candy and my stocking was filled with hair stuff (he just GETS me and I love it!!), candy, and tickets to go see Sound of Music live in February!! Matthew knocked it out of the park again this year and I am so thankful for him.

After we did our Christmas together I headed for the kitchen to make my cinnamon rolls. I made the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls this year for our neighbors and loved ones for Christmas, and REALLY enjoyed it.
I made two batches and had soooo many pans! I definitely see this becoming a tradition.
They took longer than I thought so I spent most of the day in the kitchen. I also made white chocolate cookie dough fudge and it was fantastic, but so very rich lol.
I had a sous-chef in the kitchen with me for a little bit, but she got sleepy very quickly!

Saturday morning, Christmas Eve, we woke up and finished wrapping the last of the presents and watched Santa Claus and then packed up and headed to my parents house for the day.
Before we left for the weekend I had to snap a picture of our girl in her Christmas dress ;)

We spent the day hanging out and cooking the last of everything. Mom had most of it done already. I made a cookie pie for dessert that night and my youngest sister helped me with it!
Matthew with the fur babies!
Christmas Eve with my loves!

After dinner that night we changed into our Christmas pj's my mom got us all and then opened gifts with the whole family. Our families were too sweet and gave us some really nice gifts! After most of my family left we did Christmas with my parents and sisters and it was so much fun!! We were so excited to give everyone their gifts. The best reaction was from my sisters, we made them open their presents at the same time and loved it.
They loved their Patagonias!!
My parents bought us a lot of cute coastal decor for our coastal themed guest bedroom and some other goodies. I also got stocked up on some clothes...woo hoo! My parents surprised Matthew with some tools and a huge flashlight that he loved lol.
Our matching Christmas pj's! Christmas traditions are my favorite!! Matthew and my dad also got matching Christmas pj's :) My dad finally has someone to have matching Christmas pj's with lol. Side note about the pj pants...I forgot mine at home so had to improvise with a pair of my dad's Christmas pj's from a few years ago...thankfully they were really similar to the other ones lol. We just didn't want to drive all the way back home for pj pants so those worked. My mom had us these adorable monogrammed shirts made to go with them. These are all iPhone pictures, maybe one day I'll remember my camera ;)
 Aunt Mady
 Crazy aunt Mady!
After we opened presents and made pictures we sat around talking and checking out our new gifts.
We headed to Matthew's parents house later and went to bed after we unpacked our stuff. We woke up early Sunday morning and did Christmas with his parents and brothers and SIL!  We loved giving everyone their gifts and enjoyed our time together.  Our families were too sweet and gave us some really nice gifts. We got the Amazon Echo Dot and are so pumped about it!! We actually got two which works out great because we can have one upstairs and one downstairs. Matthew's older brother got him a really cool gift. His parents have always had a carousel that went around the bottom of their tree and played Christmas music. Well it's a tradition to have it out at their house and the boys love it. They stopped making them the year Matthew was born and they are really hard to find now but his brother searched and searched and found the same exact ones. So now we have one for around our Christmas tree next year...so exciting!
I got an adorable Pandora charm of a puppy to add to my bracelet and some comfy pj's and a cute Vera Bradley bag! We also got some date nights from my BIL & SIL and my cousins!

After we opened presents we got ready and then headed to church. After church we snapped a quick family picture in our Christmas outfits before we changed into comfy clothes for the rest of the day!
my skirt can be found here, and they are sold out, but this shirt is somewhat similar.

We had Christmas lunch and then spent the afternoon hanging out and talking while snacking on tons of delicious desserts. We had the best time with everyone and Reagan loved playing with her cousin, Darcy! Sadly, I hardly took any pictures on Christmas Day. Later than night after everyone left we watched The Help with Matthew's immediate family. My SIL and I never watched The Help when it first came out so we all watched it that night and it was such a good movie!! After the movie was over we all headed to bed because we were just exhausted!
Monday we woke up and had brunch with Matthew's family and then loaded up the car and headed back to my parent's house to get some gifts we left because we didn't have room to load them before we left and to see what all my sister's got for Christmas. We hung out with them for a bit before we finally headed back to our house to unpack everything! Late Monday afternoon we headed to my mema's house for our third and final Christmas celebration. We had a delicious dinner and then gave everyone their gifts. We got them hand painted Christmas baskets while we were on our cruise in Cozumel, and they loved them!

Matthew and I both took Tuesday off to catch up on some rest because we knew we would be exhausted from the long holiday weekend. We had the best day together. We cleaned early that morning and then lounged around the rest of the afternoon watching Christmas movies and playing with our girl! We went to dinner with our best friends, Ethan and Rachel last night to Macaroni Grill, it was our first time trying it! And then did some shopping after since we were at the mall already.
I am holding on to Christmas for as long as I can...I'm still listening to Christmas music and enjoying our Christmas decorations until the end of this week! We'll take it all down by New Years Day.

I planned on going out the day after Christmas to check out the sales but never made it. We stopped at Home Goods on the way to my mema's Monday afternoon and I found Spode Christmas dishes there for $7 and then they were 50% off!!!! You better believe I was freaking out and bought it all! I had been looking that morning online at the same exact dishes and just didn't want to pay $80 for 4 dinner plates. I am so excited and can't wait to use them next year on our farmhouse table that Matthew built us! I also found a white pre-lit Christmas tree at Wal-Mart and some silver and blue ornaments for 50% off for our coastal guest bedroom next year!
We are now at 5 Christmas trees (lol) and Matthew has officially banned me from buying anymore. I got the two main things I was looking for and could not be happier about them or what we spent on them. Talk about a deal!!

This time of year is so fun, and I love being around everyone and spending tons of time with family. I am already looking forward to next year!
