LIFE LATELY | ROUNDING OUT SEPTEMBER

Life has been full speed lately and this past weekend was the first weekend in months where we had zero plans. We took advantage of that and other than running a few errands on Saturday afternoon and church on Sunday, we stayed in the whole weekend!

Since it's been a little bit since I did a 'life lately' post, here are a few snip-its from the past couple of weeks to round out September.

Last Saturday we went to 'Family Fourth' at Matthew's parents house and then we all went bowling. It was a really fun time and the perfect activity to do since it was a rainy day out.

The rain continued on into the week and I do believe it rained every single day of last week. The rain did bring cooler weather and I did not mind it one bit while I worked from home. I opened the window in my office and listened to it rain all day while the cooler weather came in. So relaxing and a nice change from the HOT weather.

Reagan was a huge fan of it too. Her favorite place to stay when I work from home, in one of our dining room chairs I brought up to my office by the window.

Working from home is great until they ask to use cameras and you are in your comfy clothes and have no makeup on lol!

One afternoon last week my uncle surprised me by stopping by the house with this ADORABLE wreath that he found at Home Goods! He knew that we hosted Friendsgiving every year and said I needed it. He's the sweetest!

No political talk here, but I watched the whole senate hearing last Thursday and snapped this picture of Reagan at the perfect moment- it looks like she is watching it too here lol.

I have been doing a lot of painting projects recently. I forgot how much I love painting. Reagan has not been enjoying that because she can't sit in my lap while I paint. I snapped this picture Saturday morning because I took a break from painting and she jumped in my lap as soon as I put the paint brush down, ha!

Matthew grilled us delicious burgers for dinner on Saturday (we had plenty for leftovers too -woo hoo!) night and we watched the State vs. Florida game.

Reagan found a turtle in our backyard while Matthew was grilling. We had to put her inside to get the little fella to safety....away from her and on the OTHER side of the fence.

We bought new curtains for our living room last month and we absolutely LOVE them. Since our kitchen opens up to our living room I wanted to use the same design. We bought another pair (Amazon for the win!) and I took it to my seamstress in town and she made them into valances for us. They turned out beautifully and I hung them up Saturday night. We are so happy with them and only regret not doing this sooner. I'll share more soon!

WELCOMING EVELYN KYNDNESS

I got to be a part of and witness one of the most incredible moments of my life, my best friend welcomed her precious daughter, Evelyn Kyndness, into this world at 12:40pm last Thursday afternoon.

See the baby shower I helped host for her a couple of months ago, here.

I'll back up to February of this year. I met my two best friends for dinner and Kathleen surprised us and told us she was pregnant and due in September. Needless to say we were shocked and beyond THRILLED. She also asked me if I would be in there with her and her husband during the delivery to make pictures....!!!!!! I was even more surprised and so honored that she would want me to be a part of a special moment, of course I said yes. We have been best friends since third grade, we've been in each other's weddings, been on vacation together, and we have done just about every step of life together. I am so thankful for her friendship!

On to last Thursday....she was induced bright and early at 5:00am and I arrived at the hospital around 6:30. Her family was there and I got started on taking pictures of details and we all hung out in her room chatting all morning. Around lunch I went down to the cafe with her brother to grab lunch when her husband called and said I needed to come back up to her room, she was fixing to start pushing. Thankfully I booked it back up there because Evelyn was here 25 minutes later!!!!
Kathleen did so incredibly well and is a total rockstar. Her husband was right there encouraging her and after 20 minutes of pushing, their baby girl was here.

9 lbs 5 oz. 21.75 inches and absolutely perfect in every way.

The prettiest sunrise on my drive to the hospital Thursday morning

Truly one of the sweetest moments and I have a ton of respect for all you mama's out there!

The rest of the day went by quickly and by late afternoon I got to hold her for the first time and on Friday night Matthew got to meet her and hold her too! Kathleen and Matthew grew up together as well, so it was a sweet moment for all.

We are so incredibly happy for our best friends and so incredibly thankful that Evelyn is here and HEALTHY!

AMAZON SUCCULENTS

I have mentioned them a few times before, but I wanted to do a full (non-sponsored) review on my recent Amazon purchase, boxed succulents.

If I had to rate this purchases it would be a 10/10.
I am so happy with these and I loved the price! I ordered these ASAP when I realized they were on sale back in the summer. I was able to get them when they were 50% off, so if you are going to purchase these, I would definitely recommend waiting until they drop the price again. You just can't beat a succulent that's under $2.

They arrived in a small box that was clearly marked, 'fragile' and there was a nice layer of air bubble packing to keep them secure. They came with instructions on what to do as soon as your receive them and instructions on how to care for them once replanted.

I replanted them into new ceramic planters and I have placed them all over our house. We have some in our guest bedrooms, entryway, living room, and kitchen. They are the perfect touch and add a little bit of greenery here and there. The best part? They require very little care. I just water them about once a week (or a little over a week when I forget) and make sure they are getting plenty of sunlight. Some were small enough that I was able to plant two per planter

Who would have thought that you could purchase plants on Amazon??
Whata time to be alive, friends!

WEEKEND RECAP

We both worked from home on Friday, which obviously meant that we had to go to Chick-fil-A for lunch. I had a call soon after lunch so we just got it to go, so Reagan came along for the ride.

The weekend started promptly as soon as I shut down my computer on Friday and I booked it to Murfreesboro to watch my sister's soccer game. It was a good game, but they ended up losing. We still cheered her on the only way we know how to, loud and proud.

Saturday we woke up and worked on things around the house. I ended up putting this cube organizer together for our hall closet downstairs. I am loving having it in our hall closet so far, now if only this area could stay this organized for longer than 2 days. ;)

I also replanted all of my succulents over the weekend. I love the morning light that comes through our kitchen windows each day!

I also noticed some new baby blooms on the plant that Matthew's grandmother gave me a few months ago!

Saturday afternoon we met my family for mine and my dad's birthday dinner. It was good to see the whole family! My youngest sister and I showed up practically wearing the same outfit lol.

BIRTHDAY FESTIVITIES

Happy Friday!

This past Tuesday marked another trip around the sun for me and it was such a sweet day. Matthew, my family and friends made it the best! Matthew made me a delicious breakfast before we both headed off to work. He had flowers and the sweetest card waiting for me as well.
So thankful for him!!

My sweet friends at the office had cupcakes and a fun card waiting on me when I walked in.
So thankful for them, work would not be the same without them!

I met Matthew for lunch at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants close to my office. We practically sat in the same spot as we did last year at my birthday lunch here, ha! I love when Matthew is in the office and we can meet for lunch. It doesn't happen often, so when we realized he would be in the area on my birthday we quickly planned on meeting for lunch!

Matthew surprised me with dinner reservations at one of my favorites, Maggiano's
Their chicken parm is to die for!

It was the best birthday and I loved that I got to eat every meal with Matthew that day hahaha! I am so thankful for my health, my family and friends, and of course, my sweet sweet husband! I am excited to celebrate with family this weekend. My dad's birthday is four days before mine so we always have a big birthday dinner with family for the two of us. I LOVE sharing that with my sweet daddy!

REAGAN IS TWO!

Our Sweet girl turned TWO on September 1st.

Although it was a busy weekend we still made time for a quick birthday photo shoot with her pink birthday hat, and he got all the eggs, cheese and bacon flavored treats her little heart could desire.

We just adore our sweet furbaby and are so thankful she's in our life!
