Best birthday present!!

Friday afternoon I got off at lunch (there is nothing better than getting off early on a Friday) so I could get ready so we could leave Cookeville at a decent time to make it to Nashville and not be rushed.
Matthew was looking so fine if I do say so myself!
We decided to stop in Lebanon to eat so we wouldn't have to fight the crazy crowds in Nashville. We ate at Chili's...2 for $20 is seriously our favorite!

After that we headed for Nashville. We stopped at play it again sports so Matthew could look at their disc golf discs. Matthew got a couple and he got me a pink one :)

Then he took me down the road to show me where he interviewed last week. The building is beautiful and is all glass and he said the view is unbelievable.

After that is was LUKE BRYAN time.
We drove downtown to park and ended up only parking a few blocks away, which wasn't too bad.
It seemed like everyone in Nashville was going to this concert. We finally made it to our seats and waited for the concert to start.

Florida Georgia Line came out first. I am a big fan of them and Matthew on the other hand isn't too fond of them, I'm really not sure why though. I enjoy their songs and they really got the concert going!!

Next, Thompson Square came out...
We are huge fans of them!! I absolutely LOVE their story. How fun would it be to be married and both working together doing what you love?!
They are precious together and they played all of our favorite songs :)

and then this happened...

Just look at him!!
Ole Luke didn't disappoint that is for sure!
His concert is always so fun and he definitely shook what his mama gave him all over the stage...
all.night.long ;)

After the concert we decided to stop in Smyrna and get some ice cream and Sonic. Overall it was a GREAT night and we both had a lot of fun!! Such a wonderful birthday gift, thank you M!

It was our weekend to go home and I was pretty glad. We both decided and agreed back in the summer when I first moved up that once school starts we would come home every other weekend. I am pretty happy with our decision on this.

Saturday I slept in and it was great. I love being able to go to sleep without an alarm being set. The weather was cold, rainy and gloomy Saturday which was perfect and it was time to breakout my new sweater from F21

I made a quick run to Target to get some more make up that I am running low on and just looked around. Target is definitely one of my weaknesses.
When I got back home I had some of mama's chili and took a nap :)
That night we went to the corn maze and it was freezing!! I had about 3 layers of clothes on and still couldn't feel my toes.
I ended up talking my best friend into coming down to the corn maze to see me while we were there. The corn maze we always go to is out in Milton and is owned by a family we grew up with and her brother actually works there every year so we knew most everyone there.
It's not fall unless I go to the Milton corn maze :)

Five on Friday

Woo hoo it's Friday and it's not only Friday but it's
 LUKE BRYAN FRIDAY IN TENNESSEE Y"ALL!!!!

//ONE//
This weather!! I can't even get over it! 2 weeks ago it was in the high 90's and I was about to die of a heat stroke outside on my lunch break and this week I have had my heat on full blast in my car but I'm not complaining I am loving it and I am loving my warm cozy sweaters and boots!!

//TWO//
Luke Bryan. Florida Georgia Line. Thompson Square.
I can't even deal right now. I am SO excited about tonight!!
If you remember Matthew got us tickets to go see them for my birthday and I have been on the countdown every since I found out!!
We saw Luke Bryan a couple of years ago at the CMA Fest and he was HILARIOUS and we both really enjoyed it. We both love Thompson Square and I am a huge FGL fan as well!!
So tonight is going to be perfect!! I am getting off early so I can get ready and so that we can leave early to eat dinner and not rush! Nashville here we come :)
Also we are going by an accounting firm that Matthew had an interview with on Monday!!!!
He wants to show me where it's at and I am excited to see it! He said the interview went very well and they took him to lunch. So we are praying to hear something back!!  #proudgirlfriend

//THREE//
Home. I am going home this weekend and I am pretty excited. I have been a little homesick, I guess when you are sick it makes you miss home a little bit more. Can't wait to see everyone and get some sista bonding time in this weekend!! I will also be making a stop by Target :)
I seriously have withdrawals.

//FOUR//
Essie, oh how I love the!
My obsession has grown and I can't seem to go into any store without buying a new color. There are just SO many to chose from and since I paint my nails so often, why not?? Their new fall colors are to die for and my little nail bag I bring to work is starting to get too full. Gotta love Essie though.

//FIVE//
Makeup, I have also grown an obsession for makeup. I am constantly finding new makeup tutorials on YouTube and watching them and trying out different things. I recently bought some Bobbi Brown makeup and I was so excited about it I met the UPS driver as soon as he got off this truck, I'm sure the poor guy thought I was crazy.
I don't know if  I have ever said this before or if you can tell but I LOVE BEING A GIRL. Nails, makeup, hair...it's so fun all the stuff we get to do and play around with, not to mention clothes. I forgot about a gift card I got for my birthday and I found it and bought a few new ADORABLE sweaters for this fall. I love getting things in the mail so I have been giddy all week.

Have a great weekend love muffins!

Life is sweet, go have fun

we had our first intramural doubles match Tuesday night. Now if you know us then you know Matthew is the tennis pro and well, I'm just not. All afternoon I kept telling Matthew how nervous I was and he just kept telling me to go have fun. Y'all I did just that. We played an hour and a half and I had a ball the whole time. Even though we lost in a tie-breaker 8-8 (7-4) Matthew played his little heart out and I tried haha. If you can't laugh at yourself you just aren't living people!!
Life is sweet, go have fun.

Trust and Obey

The other day Matthew and I were listening to the fireworks and the band play though my apartment window after the football game last Thursday night. One of our favorite things to do if we decide to leave the game early or in that case miss the game because I was sick.
We were sitting there and he asked me what I wanted to do when I got older.
Without hesitating I said be a mom.
There is nothing more that I want than to be a mom (5+ years of course)
He asked what else I wanted to do (we have had this conversation many times) and I just sat there, trying to think. I get frustrated when I think about this because it seems like everyone and their mother already has this figured out especially at 21 so why do I not have it figured out?
I mean I have an idea of what I want to do, wedding stylists/ coordinator/ planner/ event planner, but is this really going to happen?
Is this really a need? Will I be able to succeed in this or will I end up working in an office doing something I don't like because this career path I want is not a need?

I enjoy my job now for the most part but it's just a job not a career for me. After about 3 months of working in this type of setting I have already decided it's just not for me.
I need to be up moving around, not sitting on my hind end all day talking calls. I want to be active throughout the day creating things, maybe even have an office at home and work from home?
Don't get me wrong I don't hate my job now but it's just a job to get me through the next couple of years of college.

I've been a teller but I don't want to spend the rest of my life as a teller or even a personal banker.
I want to help people, maybe be a nurse? But I can't do blood, so that's definitely out.
I worked in a daycare and enjoyed it but I don't want to be a daycare teacher the rest of my life. Snot and dirty diapers are just not my thing.
I love kids and can't wait to have some of my own one day but I can't see myself as a teacher. I think it would be fun having my own classroom and decorating it the way I want to but I just can't see myself teaching for the rest of my life.
All of these thoughts go though my mind daily.
FRUSTRATING I tell ya.

But then in the middle of all this frustration and stressing out I am constantly reminded.
//Trust and obey//
One of my favorite hymns.
Why am I stressing out so much on this when I already know there is a plan and I just need to trust God's plan?
Why is this so hard for me?

If you really think about it you trust more than you think. I hear people all the time saying they don't trust anyone but that's not necessarily true.
You trust the person driving past you on the interstate, you trust they know how to drive and that they won't hit you.
You trust the doctor giving you that flu shot, you trust that he will give you the shot in your arm like he was taught to do and not stab you in your neck.
You trust the expiration date on your gallon of milk siting in your refrigerator you trust that the date is right and that you still have two good days to drink it before it goes bad.
 So why is it difficult to trust God at certain times?

 One of my favorite verses and is and will always be a great reminder...

"Be strong, courageous, and firm, fear not be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you."
-Deuteronomy 31:6

What are your thoughts on this? Ever been in this position?
