NETFLIX BINGING

I love Netflix and I love being able to watch just about any show that I want within a few minutes, but what I hate is when we finish up a series and I'm searching the internet for another good one to start. With it getting dark out so early now and the weather is finally starting to cool down, I find myself just wanting to curl up on the couch after a long day and binge watch a good show with Matthew. So here is a list of some shows that are binge worthy (the bold ones I've already watched):

1. Gilmore Girls
2. Lost
3. Nashville
4. The Office
5. Once Upon a Time
6. How I Met Your Mother
7. Friends
8. Game of Thrones
9. Modern Family
10. One Tree Hill
11. Sons of Anarchy
12. Walking Dead
13. Vampire Diaries
14. Breaking Bad
15. House of Cards
16. Grays Anatomy
17. Friday Night Lights
18. West Wing
19. How to Get Away with Murder
20. Parenthood

I really want to watch Nashville and How to Get Away with Murder soon! Those two are definitely next on my list. I've watched a good bit of Friends but never in order so I want to start that one from the beginning and watch it all the way through. Also, if you have been around here for any length of time I'm sure you have heard me talk about How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) it just happens to be one of our favorite shows. If you haven't watched it yet I would definitely recommend it! So fix your favorite soup/chili in the crock pot and pick a new show to start!

WINTER DATE IDEAS

It's that time of the year again, the temps are starting to drop, people are docking their boats and putting up their bathing suits until next year, and pulling out their sweaters, leggings and boots.
I am beyond ready for some cozy nights at home with my husband and our fire place.
Here are some fun winter date ideas that y'all can do this year!

ONE | Drive around and look at Christmas lights
TWO | Take pictures at a Christmas tree farm
THREE | Go shopping for an angle tree child or fill a shoebox.
FOUR | Have a progressive dinner in your town.
FIVE | Pull out the air mattress or sleeping bags and have a sleepover in front of the fireplace
SIX | Go on a hike
SEVEN | Make dinner together at home - this cookbook is perfect
EIGHT | Go to a local Christmas play
NINE | Go get hot chocolate and walk around your town square
TEN | Decorate Christmas cookies
ELEVEN | Have another couple over and build gingerbread houses and have soup night - this soup is incredible!
TWELVE | Set up the self timer and take a couple of Christmas pictures in front of your Christmas tree
THIRTEEN | Go to a few football games and grab hot chocolate while you're there to warm up
FOURTEEN | Have a cheesy Christmas movie marathon and make these

THANKSGIVING PLAYLIST + RECIPES

I still haven't gotten around to posting about our friendsgiving because it's been so hectic, but I will post about that next week!

Today I am sharing a few playlists and a couple of my favorite holiday recipes. It's tradition for my family to listen to Christmas music while we cook Thanksgiving dinner and of course, it's one I love. So here are a couple of Christmas playlists that I will be listening too over the next few days...

And now for the recipes!

Sausage Balls...these are great for snacking on while you cook all day!

Dumplins

Red Cinnamon Apples

These are just a few of my favorite recipes for the holidays!

BATH ESSENTIALS

I love taking a hot bath, especially this time of the year. The weather is starting to cool down, I can feel my skin getting dry and itchy, and our never ending busy schedule has me craving hot bubble baths and lots of lotion around this time of the year. Here are some of my favorite bath essentials and a few things I am adding to my wish list!

Waffle Knit Robe (the best robe I have ever owned!)
Bath Caddy (adding this to my Christmas wish list)
Luxury Spa Bath Pillow (this is also being added to my wish list)
Epsom Salt Soaking Solution (I seriously can't take a bath without this)
Lavender Vanilla Candle (smells amazing)

Not only does this help me relax and feel refreshed, but it's great for my skin. I love taking a hot bath after dinner is over and a couple of hours before bed. I swear I always sleep better when I have had a hot bath a couple of hours before.

So tonight after dinner is over and the dishes are put away, forget about any chores you need to be doing, light a candle and take a hot bath!

TUESDAY FUNNIES

I thought since there is so much negative talk on most of my newsfeeds today (and has been for months...yay for it almost being over, hopefully!) then I would share some funnies to get you through the day!

THIS IS SO TRUE. I HATE DST.

We take Reagan's food and water up every night at 8 so she won't go to the bathroom all night and I definitely did this the other night...I thought it was 8 or after and when I looked at the clock I realized it was only 6:45...blah!

If it's going to be dark when I get home you better believe I'm going straight upstairs and putting my Christmas pj pants on!

The one and only thing I will say related to this election though, GO VOTE!!

FRIDAY NO. 37

My mums are in full bloom, but I'm afraid the heat wave we had this past week was almost too much for them, I can see some of the buds turning brown towards the back :( I've been watering the and putting ice cubes in regularly, but with the temperature almost to 90 degrees and the sun it has about done them in. Hoping they at least make it until Thanksgiving, but that might be pushing it.

- We had a pretty good week! We handed out candy to the cutest trick or treaters, we voted, we flipped back and forth between the CMA awards and the World Series, we took Reagan to her next vet visit, we played outside with her, Reagan got her first bath, and tonight is date night...yay!

Obligatory voting picture! I am so glad we early voted, I remember voting in the last election and waiting in line forever to finally cast my vote. This year we only had to wait about 5 minutes- not bad at all!

We didn't get a chance to make it up to the mountains this year, but this article is making me want to take a PTO day and spend a long weekend up there with my man!!!! I've been to Gatlinburg plenty of times and during different seasons and I have to admit that the fall and Christmas is the best time to be there! If you have been on the fence about taking a trip to Gatlinburg, just do it! You won't regret it. There is so much to do and to see there. We were there last Halloween and it was so fun. You can read about some of our past trips to Gatlinburg HERE, HERE, and HERE!

Reagan has recently started doing this thing where she'll go stand in front of the couch and then start whining until we put her up there. She usually only does this when she's tired and once she's up there she'll make herself right at home and go to sleep. It's the cutest thing and cracks us up because we never really put her on the couch before she started doing this so we didn't even realize she liked the couch, but she does! This picture is of her after she got up on the couch and went to sleep, so sweet!

- Have any of y'all heard of ThredUP? I recently received some dresses from them and love them! They are the perfect addition to my fall wardrobe and all of them were name brand but definitely not at name brand prices! You can use to code: COCKTAIL50 for 50% off first-time orders, discount up to $50.

Reagan had her next vet visit yesterday afternoon and she had to get her next shot. The vet told us she would probably be sleepier the rest of the night, but we didn't see a big difference...until the middle of the night. She woke us up 4 times, we think it was sore where she got the shot and every time she moved to get comfortable she would bump it and let out a little whimper, it was pitiful and we felt so bad for her. The vet said yesterday that she would only be sore for a little bit, so we're hoping our girl feels better. She has been playing/running around like normal, it just hurts when she bumps her little shot area. :( She actually did really well during her shot though, we were proud lol

The weather is finally starting to cool down, and I think (really hope) it's going to stay that way! Yay for finally feeling like fall again!

GOALS | NOVEMBER

I almost forgot about my November goals. I still can't believe I am making November goals already!! November and December will be busy months with the holidays. I hope that we are able to relax a little and enjoy our time together and with our families!

Here are October's goals:

- Clean out our closet and get our fall clothes out!
A big ole CHECK!

-Organize our kitchen cabinets
Another big ole CHECK

-Finish dining room chairs
Another big ole CHECK (seriously, it felt so good finishing these!)

-Get our mums from Cookeville and take pictures of all our fall decorations to blog about!
We missed our usual mums in Cookeville, but still got some beautiful mums from my BIL's wedding!

-Finish Wedding posts...hope y'all aren't tired of them yet ;)
Completely failed on this one.

-Go on a weekend trip (I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!)
We had the best weekend in Gatlinburg! Bears, puppies, good food, and quality time with my husband...could not have asked for a better trip!

-Try some new recipes
We have tried some new recipes! Every recipe that we try that I get from Pinterest I pin it to a new board called, "Pinned it, did it" with my honest review. That way I can go back and find it if I want to make it again!

-Check some things off of our Fall Bucket List!
We have checked off quite a few things, but have a few more to do!

1.  Host Friendsgiving. It is this Saturday and I am working on centerpieces + making sure we have everything else ready to go. I am so excited, and the weather is looking to be cool, but sunny with no rain...perfect!!!

2.  Create a cleaning schedule and stick to it! I feel with the time change we have literally gone to bed right after we eat dinner. And with that happening our apartment has suffered during the week and we are left with a lot of cleaning on the weekend, which is the exact opposite of what we want to do during our free time. So as we are adjusting to the time change I am hoping we'll get back on track.

3.  Plan a couple of fun/cheap Christmas date ideas! This will be our first married Christmas together and I want to enjoy every second of this fun time of the year together, and maybe start some of our own traditions!

4.  Try some new recipes. I have really enjoyed my time in the kitchen since we've been married. I love trying new recipes and using all of our new appliances! So I want to try even more new recipes.

5.  Share with y'all how we meal plan. The way we meal plan might not work for everyone, but if I can help another newlywed wife out I'll do it! I remember searching the internet before we got married to find THE best way to meal plan for us. I wanted to start off our marriage eating at home, to save money and to use our new appliances we had been gifted! I read many blog posts and eventually ended up pulling a little bit from all over to create the way we have been using. The first couple of weeks were kinda bumpy on our meal planning as we were still unpacking my stuff and settling into our routine, but we eventually got into a routine that we really like!

6.  Finish Christmas shopping. I would love to have all of our Christmas shopping finished by the end of this month, but I don't know if that will happen. So we have given ourselves a deadline of December 12th, to have at least everything ordered!

7.  Decorate for Christmas! And last but not least, decorate our apartment for Christmas! The Saturday after Thanksgiving we are going to put on comfy, cozy clothes and spend the day decorating for Christmas and watching Christmas movies. This is one of my FAVORITE days of the year and I am so excited to spend it with my Matthew! Also, Matthew has requested that there be sausage balls that morning, so I'll be making sausage balls for breakfast! :)
