Mondays aren't always bad

I knew I wanted to see Matthew after his first day of work, so I decided last week I would just drive home for a few hours and surprise him. On my first day of work he drove from home to Cookeville to surprise me so I had a feeling he was expecting it...and he did lol. It's okay though, I still got to see him!

His commute yesterday morning definitely took longer than he thought, he still made it to work on time but it wasn't the easiest commute in. The drive home, he said, wasn't as bad! Matthew's mom made a delicious meal and his dad grilled pork tenderloin. They also received an ice cream maker that makes it in 15 minutes for Christmas! So to celebrate his first day we had homemade ice cream and cupcakes! Seriously so good.

On my first day of work Matthew surprised me with roses. I knew I wanted to get him something small and that it definitely wouldn't be flowers ;) so I ran by good ole TJ Maxx and picked up a pack of dress socks! Boy loves his dress socks! I am just so proud of him and I can't wait to hear about his second day this afternoon!!

Also while I was there I always have to browse a little... :)

I get most ALL of my journals there. They are so cheap and SO cute! I have been wanting to pick one up so that I can start an "engagement journal" as I like to call it lol. Like I said the other day everything is already going by so fast (we've been engaged for 3 weeks already!!), and I want to be able to write it all down. I want to be able to look back in, Lord willing, 2 years, 20 years, 55 years, and more and remember every little detail of us preparing for our marriage. Maybe even share it with my daughter or granddaughter one day, who knows! I love being able to sit down and just write it all out, to me it's so relaxing. I'm so excited about this new journal.
How appropriate is the saying on this one?! I just could NOT pass it up!

Celebrating and a road trip

We were finally able to make it to Dollywood this past weekend. I am so glad we decided not to go the previous weekend when all the snow came. They had their Christmas decorations up and everything was just perfect looking, The weather wasn't too bad, I wore my jacket most of the time and had a couple of layers on but it's still better than a snow storm!
We went with Matthew's two brothers and Nathan's girlfriend, Jenny.
Seriously, so much fun!

Here are some of the tons and tons of decorations...

We were able to ride the train and I loved the views! They played Christmas music the whole time...it was fantastic :)

and more pictures

For lunch we all decided on pizza. Seriously this thing was HUGE. I couldn't even eat it all but it was really good!

I told Matthew we would celebrate big when he passed all four parts of the CPA exam. He thought that meant going to dinner at Chili's but I know how much he loves roller coaster so Dollywood was really a no-brainer ;) It was a great trip and I loved celebrating him all day.

Also, it was a huge plus that I didn't throw up this time ;) You can read about that embarrassing story here. HA!

It was a fall weekend

It all started Thursday night of last week.
We had a pumpkin painting party after our singing at the SOC house. Someone from our church has a farm and always donates a bunch of pumpkins to us.

Friday night the SOC went to the corn maze! The weather was actually really nice. We had a good time and had a great turnout! Since it was so dark I didn't get any pictures.

Saturday morning I headed home for the rest of the weekend. I went to the pumpkin patch with my family. Tt was HOT...for October anyways. It was in the low 80's. It's kinda hard to dress in cute fall clothes when you feel like you are melting!!

Love all things fall...even cute little dirty pumpkins ;)
We ended the night with a warm fire and s'mores!

Matthew, his dad and brothers went to the Mississippi State game up in Kentucky this weekend with some friends for a guys weekend. State won and they had a good time! He was so excited to go and I'm really glad they won and had a good time!!

It has still been pretty warm but it should be cooling off and be in the 50's this weekend...joy.
This week is going to be busy but fun! We have Halloween activities going on tonight and Thursday night. I am so excited to dress up for the Halloween party this Thursday!!

This is the first weekend in a long time that we don't have plans, so I told Matthew I have a surprise date for him this Saturday afternoon/night. I am going to be giving him hints throughout the week! He HATES waiting and has already been asking a hundred questions. So cruel but so fun! HA!

"BABE I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!"

The exact words out of my mouth when I walked into my new room at my apartment.
Y'all...I still can't even believe it!!!!
Let me back up and start from the beginning though.
Tuesday I had my interview with Averitt. After my interview I told Matthew I wanted us to ride over to my apartment and look around my room (I am already planning how to decorate it)
A little bit of our conversation on the way over there
Me:  I have to find a chest of drawers soon, because I really need one for my room
Matthew: Yeah, I know I will look for one this week
Me: In the picture I saw my bed is like up leaning up against the wall, I wanna put it down and see what it's going to look like
Matthew: Okay, we can do that
**Matthew had already told me he wanted to get my furniture for my room and paint it and I had tried talking him out of it because I was afraid it would be too expensive but he wasn't changing his mind.**
We get to the apartment and I was just walking around looking at the kitchen and stuff and I go to open my door and this is what I saw
"BABE I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE THIS RIGHT NOW"
I honestly don't think I have ever been that surprised in my life...I immediately was running around trying to look at everything and of course asking about a million questions a minute trying to figure out how he did it all.
That sneaky sneaky boyfriend of mine....
Sunday he and his family got the stuff and painted ALLLLL day last Monday (I thought it was kinda strange he didn't invite me over for their Memorial Day cookout) and on Monday night they drove up to Cookeville and set everything up for me.

Melt.
My.
Heart.

His parents picked out and bought the bed set for me and it matches everything perfectly and I
L-O-V-E it soooooo much!!!!!
Matthew had picked out the colors himself (proud/impressed girlfriend over here) and they all worked their tails off getting everything finished in time for me to see it Tuesday after my interview.
The T.V. stand
he bought wooden knobs and painted them brown and put them on this and the chest of drawers

In love with my desk...isn't it just the cutest thing you ever did see?!

My chest of drawers

and on each side of the bed are two night stands he painted brown

 Still completely in shock!!

The bed set is absolutely B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and fits me perfectly

I probably spent an hour just walking around and looking at it all and trying to figure everything out
here is a panorama view
Y'all Matthew is just THE sweetest guy I know and seeing him all excited to show me everything was probably the cutest thing ever,
I STILL can't believe he did all that and was able to keep it a secret.
Hands down the best surprise from him so far.
A HUGE thank you times a million to my amazing boyfriend and his parents and big bro for helping him and doing all this for me!!
I can't wait to move in and get to use it all!!!!
