CHRISTMAS CARD PICTURES

Early last month my sister made some pictures of us at a park near our house. It was a really nice day out and we had a cool breeze. Thankfully the park wasn't crowded when we were there!

Reagan did great and enjoyed all the treats she got throughout our little session ;)

and we used this one for our Christmas card!!

I'll be sharing our Christmas card soon!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN...

...from our cute little pumpkin!

We are staying in tonight and handing out candy. It's our first Halloween in our new home/neighborhood, and we have been told that we have quite a few trick or treaters, so I am very excited!

I hope you all have a great and safe Halloween!

WEEKENDING

Friday when I went home for lunch I noticed Reagan wasn't acting like herself and she was having a hard time going to the bathroom. Matthew got home from his work trip that afternoon before I got off and noticed the same thing. We called the vet and asked them if we should bring her in then or wait until our appointment the following morning, and they said it wouldn't be a bad idea to just go on and bring her in. So as soon as I got off I met Matthew at the vet and we waited for an hour an a half since it was considered a "walk in" visit. The vet was great and said she is probably a little constipated due to us transitioning her food. The breeder had her on Purina Puppy Chow and we were trying to transition her to Blue Buffalo for puppies. She also said the Blue Buffalo can be too much for puppies sometimes so back to Puppy Chow it is for a couple of months! The vet took her back for a little more examination and Matthew and I were sitting in the room waiting and we just kinda looked at each other like, "we are going to be THOSE parents" when we have kids one day lol oh well. We were very thankful that everything was okay with our girl! We were pretty worried her sugar had dropped from the way she was acting, thankfully it didn't.
After her vet visit she was tuckered out so we took her home and she fell asleep and Matthew and I ran out for some Mexican. We both had a craving and knew we wanted our favorite Mexican place in town...it didn't disappoint! We came back home and watched the Preds game and went to bed pretty early!

Saturday morning we woke up and planned on going to town to run a few errands that morning but got a call from Sears saying our new refrigerator would be there within the hour, so I made breakfast and we waited on them. We got all new appliances back in February but about a month later the ice machine quit working and we have been going round and round with Sears to get them to fix it, and after a few times of replacing it they just brought us a new refrigerator and took the old one off.

After that we went to Sherwin Williams so I could get a couple of paint samples for out kitchen. I had it narrowed down to two colors but needed to see it on the wall first. After that we took Reagan on her first PetSmart run to pick out a new toy for doing so well at her vet visit!

Saturday my order from Forever 21 delivered and I was pumped! I ordered these ankle boots and absolutely love them already. I should also mention that these are my first pair of ankle boots. The past few years I just haven't been too big on the ankle boot trend but I tried my sisters on at the end of winter last year and really loved them so I knew I wanted some for this year, and I'm so glad I did! I got them when they were on sale but for less than $30 you can't beat it!

We had a lazy Saturday which was good after a busy week. The weather was incredible Saturday so I had all the windows open and loved it!

Later that afternoon we went back to Sherwin Williams for the paint color we chose for our kitchen! And I painted Saturday night while the Preds game was on. I finished up our kitchen Sunday afternoon and we love the color. I was so stressed out about which color to do the kitchen and literally couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I made Matthew decide which color we should do and that's the one we went with! I'll share our kitchen soon.

Also, the Preds had a great game Saturday night. They had five players out due to food poisoning from chicken soup they all had in Detroit the day before and still won...5-1 at that! It was such a good game, and my husband was a very happy camper!

Sunday morning we woke up and it was COLD in our house and outside. We didn't realize it was going to get that cold that night so after we took Reagan out we played with her in the living room and started the fireplace up! I am so excited to use that beautiful thing this winter!!
We only had the fireplace on for about 30 minutes before we had to turn it off to get ready and leave for church, but it definitely warmed us up!
After church we came home and had spaghetti and played outside with Reagan for a little bit. Then I worked on finishing up the kitchen before we had to go. Every year our church does a weekend where each class volunteers to do something around the community together. Last year we cleaned a local school's gym and cafeteria and this year we painted playground equipment at another local school. I didn't get any pictures because my hands were completely covered in red paint (and it somehow got in my hair??) but the playground looks so much better now!

PUMPKIN CENTERPIECES + (2015) FRIENDSGIVING INVITATION

I am pulling two posts that I wrote last fall to share with you today. It's that time of year to decorate for all things fall, and to start planning for Friendsgiving, if you are hosting! I shared all about hosting as a young wife, and you can read those posts, here.

Last year I decided to make our fall centerpieces for Friendsgiving. I ended up liking them so much that I left them out until it was time to decorate for Christmas. They were really simple to make, and fit perfectly on our tables.
You can find the supplies that you'll need and step by step directions (with pictures) on how to make these centerpieces, here!

Next up is the invitation that I designed for Friendsgiving last year. I went with the Friends theme and they were a hit with all of our guests, especially my sister, who is obsessed with the show. ;)
I designed the invitation in PicMonkey and printed them out at home to mail to all of our guests.

I have already started picking up some things for Friendsgiving this year, and I am getting very excited. I designed the invitation for this year a few weeks ago, and I will be sharing it next week, so stay tuned!

Are any of you hosting Friendsgiving or even Thanksgiving this year? I would love to hear about it!

WEEKEND RECAP

I mentioned on Friday that we were dog sitting all weekend, and sadly, Mila is going back home today. We had fun playing with her and really enjoyed having a dog in the house. That's a good thing because we get to bring our puppy home THIS weekend!

Friday afternoon we grabbed dinner at Sonic, sometimes you are just need a good cheeseburger and fries. Our Sonic is really close to a park so we decided to take our dinner and Mila over there and eat. The weather was great and Mila enjoyed getting out of the house. We got back to the house and decided to have a lazy night, that included catching up on episode 3 of Designated Survivor (anyone watching that?? It is so good!), and Matthew making me watch Anchor Man while I worked on a chalkboard for our front porch setup. I made the mistake of telling him a couple of weeks ago I had never watched Anchor Man, so Friday night he was determined that we were going to watch it. Thankfully, he could tell how uninterested I was in it (LOL) and turned it off about 20 minutes into the movie.

Saturday we woke up and got ready for my college roommate's wedding. It was at 10 that morning and it was a very pretty wedding! I loved her dress and the brunch at the reception was the icing on the cake. When I first moved to Cookeville we all lived together in good ole apartment D, and now we all three live in different towns, so it was nice getting to catch up very briefly.

After the wedding we headed back home and got working around the house. We borrowed my dad's truck for the weekend to haul off some big boxes that have been in our garage and to get some wood for our farmhouse table. We ended up taking two big loads to the dump. So happy to have that checked off our list. We still have some work to do in the garage, but we're getting there.

After that Matthew mowed the yard while I picked weeds and then began working on front porch fall setup. I had ideas in my mind of how I wanted our front porch to look and I was so happy to see it come to life after some playing around with it all.
Those mums are my absolute favorite, and the only mums I will buy for our front porch. They are from a small place in Cookeville, and my sister was there last weekend and picked them up for me. Below is a picture with our garden flag, the wind kept blowing so it was hard to get a good picture lol.

Saturday afternoon I made steak and baked potatoes for dinner. It was my first time making steaks and it was very obvious. They were smoking pretty good, so good that I set the smoke detectors off. We had to open some windows and the back door,  it was quite lovely in our house the rest of the night. At least we know our smoke detectors work properly ;)
Later that night our best friends, Ethan and Rachel, came over and we decided to make a Dairy Queen run for some ice cream.

Sunday afternoon we cleaned out the garage even more and around the house some. Ethan and Rachel came back over and we all went to Lowe's to get the wood for our farmhouse table. We started working on it a little before church. Matthew and Ethan were able to get a good bit done before we had to leave.
After we decided on Mexican for dinner and then came back to the house to watch the debate.

Monday afternoon I came home to a beautiful sight...Matthew and Ethan put the top of our table together. It looked so good and we were so excited!
I made breakfast for dinner while we watched The Voice, and after it was over Rachel and I got to sanding. We were able to sand both legs and the top of the table!
We are so close!!

Ethan and Rachel are headed back home today since today is their last day of fall break, but we enjoyed having them over throughout this past weekend! Matthew and I plan on working on the table as much as we can the rest of this week. We already have the stain picked out, and we're excited to have it finished. :)

FRIDAY NO. 33

This has been 100% accurate for this past week, here in Nashville.

Tuesday night we went to the last preseason Pred's game. Sadly, we lost in overtime, but it was still fun! This handsome guy was 100% in his element Tuesday night.
7 days until the actual season starts!!!!

Our recliners delivered yesterday right on time and we LOVE them! This was the picture I took right after we got them set up, so they didn't have the feet on them yet. We actually ended up moving the living room around last night so I need to take a picture of our new setup. They said beige online, but they are definitely more of a gray. Thankfully they still match our living room colors so that isn't a problem. Hello comfy recliners!!!!

I shared over 15 printables yesterday for you to create a Christmas binder of your own, in a way to help you plan and stay organized this holiday season.

We are dog sitting this weekend for our friends, and we are not complaining one bit! This is Mila, and she made herself right at home in our bed last night. We're excited to play with her all weekend long.
As I was heading out the door this morning this was the look she was giving me, so of course I had to go back in and give her some more goodbye hugs!

After church Wednesday night we went straight to Home Goods to look in their animal section. They have so many cute things for puppies, but we refrained, and only bought our puppy a feeding dish and some waste bags. It was definitely very exciting shopping for OUR puppy!

And last but not least, I got to finally see inside of Matthew's office! YAY! I met him at his office before the game on Tuesday afternoon so that we could ride together to the game. After the game when he was dropping me back off at my car we decided to run in and he gave me an office tour. Of course I made him pose for a picture in his cube...Pred's attire and all lol! He actually moved cube's yesterday so I think he has a whole new setup now, but it was still fun to see when he works.

We are hoping to work on some house projects this weekend, dog sit, hangout with our best friends, Ethan and Rachel, who are in town for fall break, and go to my college roommates wedding!

WEEKENDING

This past weekend was full of rest, family, and friends! Friday night we hosted our class at church. We had Nemo playing for the kiddos and Fibbage for the adults. We reserved the youth building and it was the perfect fit for our event.

Each room in the youth building has a theme and is decorated accordingly, it is absolutely incredible!

I found a Nemo themed photo kit for the kids. It came with paper goggles for them to hold up- so cute!
We had pizza for dinner, but I wanted to make sure there were some snacks for the kids. I found these cute ideas on Pinterest!
Shark bait = gold fish
Drift wood = pretzel sticks
Coral Reef = cheetos

It was a fun night and I think everyone enjoyed it. Saturday morning we slept in for the first time in months! We woke up and had leftover pizza for breakfast and then I headed to town to search for pumpkins and to run a few errands. Matthew stayed home and worked a little and mowed the yard!
I finally found some pumpkins and unloaded them at home. My sister was in Cookeville this weekend and picked up my favorite mums for us. I am so excited to get them from her for our front porch area. Saturday afternoon we went to my cousins new home for a cookout. She just moved back to Tennessee so it was exciting to see their new home! They also have a heated pool, so my sisters were taking advantage of a pool day on the first day of October lol. We couldn't stay long at my cousins because we had already bought tickets to the Pred's first (preseason) home game that night.
We met some friends downtown at Demo's (one of my absolute favs!) before the game. The restaurant went CRAZY when Tennessee won, and our friends we were with did too lol. It was an exciting night to say the least!
It's almost hockey season!! The official season starts on October 14th and we are PUMPED!

My SIL and friend were actually at the game so we met up with them at one point to say hi!

We got to see a couple of fights and one really good one before the Preds won! Definitely an exciting game and we loved our seats!
Bad lighting but we love our Preds! It was a late night getting home so when our alarm went off Sunday morning I turned it off and we decided to go to late service instead of early at church...morning #2 of sleeping in...woo hoo! After church we grabbed a quick lunch and then headed to Murfreesboro to see my best friend, Kathleen's, new house. She and her husband bought a house the week before and we were so excited to see it! We love their new home and we are so excited for them.
We realized Matthew and Braden were basically wearing the same shirt so we had to snap a picture ;)
They also just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary yesterday! What a great anniversary present, a new house! lol. I can't believe it has already been a whole year since their beautiful wedding!!

After visiting them we headed home and took our usual Sunday nap lol and then got up and cleaned the house before church. At church Sunday night we had a great seminar that was pretty interesting.
It was all about budgeting and saving your money. It was very close to what Dave Ramsey teaches, so it wasn't anything we haven't already heard, but it was still a good seminar.
After church we decided to try a new Mexican restaurant in town...we're still trying to find the best one, and this one was very high up there on our list. We love us some Mexican food!!

Monday morning Matthew had his second follow up appointment with the ENT who did his sinus surgery. So we got to sleep in for the third morning in a row...unheard of around here!!!! Well we got a call later that morning after breakfast letting us know that his doctor had been in a wreck and they had to cancel all morning appointments. Thankfully his doctor is okay, but he still wouldn't make it in time for the morning appointments. So after breakfast we just headed into work.

Matthew got tickets from his firm for the Pred's game tonight, so we are hoping to see another win tonight!!
