FRIENDSGIVING INVITATION | 2018

It's no secret that Friendsgiving is our favorite event to host year after year and this year's event is right around the corner. A month from today, actually, so I am sharing this years invitation with you today!

As you can see from the invitation, we are going with navy and gold for the two main colors this year. I love this color combination so much and I am so excited for Friendsgiving this year!

FRIENDSGIVING | 2017

Our third annual Friendsgiving was a success! We crammed 21 people in our dining room and Matthew's office and ate a ton of delicious food that everyone brought. Matthew found a hockey net and some hockey sticks a couple of weeks before Friendsgiving, so that was a pretty big hit with all the guys since they are all some pretty big hockey fans. After dinner there were football and the Pred's game to keep everyone entertained, and we ended up pulling out our big tree to setup. We had planned on decorating that night, but the games got a little crazy lol. As always this is a picture heavy post, so I'm going to get right to it.

We are so thankful for all of these friends and puppies!

I decided to go with navy gingham napkins and loved the way they looked with our gold chargers/plates. I clipped some eucalyptus to put on the plates for the final touch.

We used the same SnapChat filter as yesterday, I just changed the font to white and updated the year.

We ended up borrowing a folding table and benches from Matthew's parents, and it worked perfectly!

Hockey was fun and even some of us girls took turns "playing"...taking turns shooting.

So much food. Everyone brought multiple dishes and they were all so good!

Cousin pups at Friendsgiving!

Leftover containers for everyone. Best purchase for Friendsgiving and they came from Dollar Tree!

Getting the big tree up and all plugged in!

We love Friendsgiving and having everyone over!

FRIENDSGIVING INVITATION | 2017

It's that time of the year again, Friendsgiving is right around the corner and we are planning away. I have mentioned it before, but Friendsgiving is my favorite event to host every year. I'm still working on the tablescape for this year, but finished up this year's invitation a few weeks ago.

I have blocked out our address, for obvious reason, but here is the invitation for our third annual Friendsgiving!

The Facebook event has already been created and we are counting down the days until we can have all of our closest friends around our table enjoying a delicious meal....a month from today actually!! I'll mail these out in about a week or two, and since we always do potluck style, the food list will be going around soon.

FRIENDSGIVING INVITATION | 2016

Lord willing, we will be marking off an item off of our Fall Bucket list a month from tomorrow! We are planning on hosting our 2nd annual Friendsgiving, and our first Friendsgiving in our new home. We are so excited and have been looking forward to this event since last Friendsgiving
Our best friends, good food, football, cooler weather, and games...it's our favorite event to host and we are counting down the days!

Here is our 2015 Friendsgiving invitation and below is the invitation that I designed for this year!

We plan on doing Friendsgiving potluck style again this year. It worked really well last year and we're sticking with it this year. Last year the weather was really chilly and I think it rained off and on throughout the day, so we're hoping for cool but sunny weather this year!

FRIENDSGIVING 2015

Friendsgiving was a huge success and we are already excited about hosting again next year! I took a lot of pictures so get ready for a photo dump.

First some pictures of our Friendsgiving day with everyone!

My sister got there early to help with anything and I was so thankful she was there!

This sweet man also helped with anything I needed. He kept coming in the kitchen to check and see if he needed to do anything. So sweet! :)

We finally got a good group picture! It took a few tries as the guys kept being goofy lol but it made for some hilarious pictures. Also, the two in orange didn't just break out of prison, they were decked out for the UT game lol.

I saw a couple of Friendsgiving snaps and got really excited!

And now pictures of the table setup! I searched Pinterest for a few weeks on what I wanted to do. I wanted to stay within budget, but still come up with something cute. I used a lot of stuff I already had and spent very little on the things I needed to pick up for the centerpieces/place card settings.

I dug out some plates I had collected for our wedding and used. I think I have decided on keeping these for special occasions because I just love them so much. The gold detailing on them make me so happy!

And that's about it! I'll share how I made the centerpieces/place card settings tomorrow.

Friendsgiving

Lord willing, we will be making #11 off of our Fall bucket list on November 14th! I know it's only the middle of September and November and Thanksgiving are still a little far off, but the other day Matthew and I decided to host Friendsgiving! We have been talking about it here and there but finally nailed down a date and time and we are so excited. We absolutely love hosting events and having people over. I had a couple of things at my apartment when I lived with my two college roommates and we had a couple of cookouts at Matthew's apartment, but now we get to host things at OUR place and we love it. We've only hosted one event so far at our apartment since we've been married, our game night, and it was a lot of fun! So we decided to go with Friendsgiving as our next event to host.

My love for PicMonkey had me creating these invitations the other day after we nailed down all the details. We created an event on Facebook and invited everyone to "save the date" but will mail these out closer to time. I can't wait to send these out to our friends!! Have any of y'all ever used PicMonkey? I'm sure you have, but if you haven't go try it out! I love creating things on there. So fun and easy!

We decided to make it potluck style this year. We are going to handle the turkey, gravy, mac and cheese (My MIL has an amazing recipe we are going to borrow) and drinks. Sides and desserts are up to everyone else! I've been searching Pinterest these past few days for some ideas and have found some really cute ones! It's going to be so much fun, I can't wait!

Have you ever hosted a Friendsgiving or been to one? Anything you would do different or didn't care for if you went to one? We'll take any advice or tips that you have!

Friendsgiving

Last Friday we had our first annual Friendsgiving! It was a lot of fun and we had plenty of food (and still do, eating leftovers for days).
I got off of work Friday and rushed back to the apartment to start setting everything up and to warm up the dishes I had made the night before. I decided to make my nanny's red cinnamon apples and dumplings.

Here are some pictures from the night!

The fold up table I borrowed from my parents was just big enough to fit in our living room.

This wasn't even all the food, there was more on the stove. Like I said leftovers for days y'all.

Closer look at some of the details

Remember this chalkboard tray I made? Comes in handy for every event!!

I put this adorable banner together right before everyone got there and loved it.
you can find that here.

Mason jars are hands down my favorite. I bought those straws at Target last time I was home and loved them as well! I think they add the right amount of color to everything!

I wanted to make little name cards for everyone but when I was in Target I found these and knew they would definitely work!

After dinner I wanted to get a group picture so we made a few...

and then someone decided to make an "awkward family" picture so here they are...enjoy
The guys weren't really for the awkward family photo so they did their own thing, as you can see.
I never thought I would see those boys do the duck face.

The girls!

I am happy to say our first Friendsgiving was a success and I am already excited to have it again next year!!
Are you having a Friendsgiving? If you aren't yet plan one, they are so fun!!
