FRIDAY NO. 35

As of 6:15 this afternoon we will have been puppy parents for a whole week. It has been so fun, but so exhausting. We really can't complain though, Reagan is such a good puppy, and she is so stink' smart! She hasn't really had too many accidents inside, if she did it was because we weren't quick enough to get her outside. We got her this puppy play pen to stay in during the day while we are at work. We put her tinkle turf  in there with her on one side of the play pen and she has been using that everyday while we are away at work. We are so proud of her!!!! She hasn't had any accidents in her play pen yet, fingers crossed it stays that way. ;) She goes to the bathroom as soon as we set her down on the grass outside, she's perfect!

I worked it out with my boss that I can come in earlier to take a longer lunch everyday. So I run home on my lunch break and take her out and get mid day puppy cuddles, it is seriously the best thing ever. I so look forward to my lunch breaks everyday even more now. We send Matthew puppy snap chats everyday!

Matthew's client was closing early the other day so instead of going into the office to work he just worked from home that afternoon and this is the picture he sent me...she fell asleep on his desk while he was working.

Our favorite part of the day is when daddy gets home from work...

I saw this the other day and it is 100% accurate. I have had to delete pictures on my phone twice this week just to make more storage...I can't even help it!

Matthew had to work in Knoxville yesterday and today, so we are excited for him to come home this afternoon! Reagan keeps walking around the house looking for him, it's the cutest thing!

Since Matthew was out of town last night I decided to take Reagan on her first trip to Murfreesboro! She met her grandparents and aunts! We also introduced her to my parents puppy, Ellie. That actually went a lot better than I expected and I'm hoping they warm up to each other more and more. Once Reagan is bigger we'll let them play together.

This post has officially been all about our girl, but I can't help it. She is too cute not to talk about!

We don't have any plans for this weekend other than Reagan's first vet visit tomorrow morning, and I am hoping to finally paint our kitchen. We are also hoping to work on our farmhouse table some more.

Happy Friday!

FRIDAY NO. 31

This has been the longest week, but I am so glad it is finally Friday! We have an exciting weekend coming up and I can't wait to share everything with you all on Monday.

We are so thankful that Matthew has been feeling so much better this past week, The Lord is so good and we are so blessed. He's been feeling so good that he did a lot of yard work this week and then took down the trampoline in our backyard! Men...you can't keep them down for long ;) I am very thankful for him though!!

One of my favorite bloggers/blog friend, Ashley announced this morning that she is opening an embroidery business!! You can read all about it here and follow her new Instagram account here! So exciting and I can't wait to get some things monogrammed!!!!

Has anyone ever used Canva? I just discovered it the other day and I'm doing the 30 day free trial, but I am LOVING it so far. I am still trying to learn all about it and navigate my way around the website. Any tips or tutorials that y'all know of, send them my way!
Even though yesterday was the first day of fall it has been in the 90's and looks like it's not getting cooler anytime soon...so sad. I know the cooler weather is coming soon enough though, and before I know it I will be wishing it was summer again ;)

Another one of my favorite bloggers/blog friend, Kelsey posted the cutest tutorial vlog on how to make a fall centerpiece this week! I have the same pitcher and I am really wanting to switch up my fall centerpiece now! Go watch it and her other vlogs!!

See snaps of our weekend by following me on Snapchat!

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

FRIDAY NO. 30

Exactly one week ago today Matthew had his sinus surgery. Thankfully the surgery went very well and the doctors were able to remove the cyst from his right sphenoid sinus, and fix his deviated septum. If you have had sinus surgery, or know anyone close to you that has, then you know recovery is rough. He had his follow up appointment this past Tuesday and the doctor drained it pretty good, which Matthew said hurt worse than the surgery, but the doctor did say that it was looking perfect for four days post surgery. So we were very excited to hear that. We can't say enough good things about our ENT doctor and his whole team! They are fantastic!! Matthew is still pretty sore, stuffed up, dizzy at times and dealing with some headaches, but the doctor said that is perfectly normal and expected after sinus surgery. Everyone we have talked to that has had sinus surgery said they experienced all of that as well, and that the recovery just takes some time. We have been told the worst part is over now so he just needs to take it easy and get as much rest as possible. Prayers for a speedy recovery for my sweet man, please!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that we bought a new humidifier and that it also is a diffuser for essential oils. The humidifier has been used SO much since Matthew's surgery, doctors orders, and we love it. Well I have been reading more about oils and I am so fascinated by them, but I have still been on the fence about if they really work or not. Last night Matthew got a headache, it was due to his sinus surgery, but I still wanted to see if the oil would work or not. I found this picture; on Pinterest the other day and thought I would give it a try....and it WORKED! His headache was gone within 20 minutes!!!!!! I was a little stuffed up last night so I decided to dab a little under my nose and within a few minutes I was breathing great again! We did buy an off brand oil off of Amazon so I was afraid it wasn't going to work as well as name brand oils, but it worked perfectly fine!

Last Sunday afternoon we had Matthew's grandmother's 90th birthday, and I got to meet a lot of Matthew's family that lives in Mississippi!
Doesn't Matthew look great 2 days after his sinus surgery?! Thankfully he didn't bruise any and there was very little swelling. We only stayed at the party for a little bit because he was still in quite a bit of pain on Sunday.
My best friend and her family stopped by, too!

My BIL brought his new puppy for the weekend, too! We got in tons of puppy snuggles, and melted every time he fell asleep on me.
There was something about this blanket that he LOVED. Every time I held him in it he would fall asleep and I would melt all over again.

We were having some cool mornings but the heat is back and looks like it's here next week, too, but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying my fall decor around the house! I am also loving my new bracelet from my sister!

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

FRIDAY NO. 27

I can't believe I am almost to 30 of these Friday posts!! So crazy and I can't believe how quick the year is going by.

This past weekend we started cleaning our our garage and we decided to take pictures of some things to sell. One of those things was our old table that we used at our apartment and fixed up. I wrote this post on our dining room table makeover last fall and we used it for a couple of months after we moved into our new home, but decided a round table would look best in that space. So it's been sitting in our garage every since. Matthew wanted to to just throw it away, but I knew we would be able to sell it. So I finally posted it yesterday morning to my Facebook and Instagram just to see if any of our friends would be interested. We honestly didn't think anyone would be interested and that we would eventually put it on craigslist or something. Well after an hour of posting it I had NINE people messaging me and asking to buy it. To say I was shocked would be an understatement! The first girl to message me about it decided to buy it and will hopefully pick it up this weekend! If anything falls through with them still wanting it, then we have 8 other girls interested in it lol. Matthew was just as shocked as I was. I do have to say, I am a little sad to see it go. I remember picking out this table, addressing and stamping our wedding invitations at it, eating our first cooked meal as a married couple at it just days after we got back from our honeymoon, and then spending ALL of Labor Day weekend last year giving it a makeover. The best times around this table with my sweet man!

As you all know, Instagram is now doing Instagram Stories. I thought it was a little weird at first but didn't freak out about it like a lot of people that I follow on Instagram did lol. I'm definitely still using Snap Chat (mrsshelbycoats), but I'm interested to see if people start using Instagram Stories more or not.

My BIL, Andrew, and his girlfriend are coming to stay with us this weekend and we plan on doing house projects all weekend long!!!! So excited to cross some things off of our list...our farmhouse table being one of them!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO! While the guys are working on building stuff I think Christina and I are going to paint.

I know November is still a couple of months away, but I am really excited about hosting Friendsgiving again this year! I think I am pretty sure I know what our tablescape is going to look like, or at least what I want it to look like lol, and I designed the invitations last week! We created a Facebook event this week, just to go on and put the date on everyone's calendar and I'll send the invitations our closer to time. We are doing it potluck style again, so I'm excited to see what everyone brings! You can read about our Friendsgiving last year, here!

My two youngest sisters have their first half day of school today, so I am anxious to get a call from them this afternoon to hear who they got and all about their half day. My youngest sister is starting middle school today...sniff sniff. The youngest Kelly baby is growing up!

We had a gift card burning a hole in our pocket, so we decided to have a date night last night. I will always LOVE dating my man! Unfortunately his food wasn't too good, but we made up for it with a skillet cookie for dessert...so delicious!

Happy weekend!!

FRIDAY NO. 24

Happy Friday, friends!!!! Just-a-wee-bit excited over here because we get a four day weekend and we are PUMPED. This week was a long one that I never thought would end, so I am hoping today flies by!

I posted this picture on Instagram the other day and mentioned it here, and I had a lot of question about it, and even a few emails. I looked at some Christmas binder ideas on Pinterest and then just put my own together since I can't justify paying for one on Etsy. If anyone is interested I'd be happy to share the printables I made so you can make you own Christmas binder.

We were out on a summer night drive the other day and got to see a beautiful sunset. We also found a really nice golf course really close to our house that Matthew is pretty excited about.
and this is what the sky looked like by time we got back home. So many pretty colors!

I found this comforter the other day at Target and just fell in love with it. I think it looks just like Rifle Paper Co. products and we all know how much I love all their products. Well I showed Matthew a picture of it and told him this would look great on the twin bed in my office, and that next time we are in Target we should check it out. We have a few Target gift cards left so we could just get it with one of those. Well my sweet husband surprised me with it earlier this week, and just as I expected, it looks SO good in there!!!! We had a navy comforter from Matthew's college apartment in there, but I think this one helps brighten up the room even more. He is the sweetest and I love the new comforter!!

We had plans to go to Murfreesboro and eat dinner with my in-laws last night so Matthew called me right as I was getting off and told me not to leave that he was going to pick me up and we could just head straight to their house. We absolutely LOVE riding to work together in the morning so any chance we get, we will carpool together! We envy those couples that work in the same office together and get to ride to work together lol. I finally got him to come up to my office and was able to give him a really quick tour of where I work before we headed to his parents house for dinner. He was probably telling me not to take a picture lol.

FRIDAY NO. 23

This week ended my three week streak of not working a full week. With vacation and the holiday I haven't worked a full week...what am I going to do next week when I have to work 5 full days...just kidding, it will be GOOD to get back into a normal routine! The next week though, Matthew and I both took off that Monday and Tuesday to celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Somebody please tell me how we've been married almost a whole year. Excuse me while I go sob now.

We have been talking about getting a treadmill for awhile now and finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase one. It arrives today, and we are so excited! The heat and humidity is pretty much unbearable right now and before we know it the bone chilling weather will be here preventing us from getting outside, so we decided to just get a treadmill so we can exercise anytime we want and not have to worry about the weather! I've already been looking up different treadmill workouts on Pinterest.

I absolutely LOVE summer and warmer weather, and I'm actually pretty bummed that it's already JULY. Summer, slow down please! The cold weather just makes me cringe, but for some reason the last few days I have been on a Christmas kick. I've been looking up tons of ideas on how to decorate our house this year for Christmas and I just can't wait!! Even though that will bring icky cold weather lol.

Our Red, White, & Blue BBQ is tomorrow and I am so excited! The weather isn't look to hot again, but I'm hoping it will hold off or pass quickly.

As I mentioned our 1 year anniversary is quickly approaching and I just got a conformation text that Matthew's anniversary present is ready! I am so, so excited and I can't wait to give it to him. I'll pick it up sometime next week and then comes the hard part. Keeping it from him until our actual anniversary lol.
My uncle Robbie came over last night and took measurements for our built ins for our living room!! We are SO excited to get the ball rolling on this and we're hoping to have them done fairly soon. If you remember in this post I shared about our living room inspiration. Here is a picture of what we are wanting and you can find the tutorial for it here. Give me all the white and shiplap, please!

And here is a picture of our living room. Since our living room is so wide we'll have two sets of shelves on each side our our fireplace. We are SO excited. Every since we moved in I have been picking up small things here and there when I find something that will look good on our built ins shelves. These are next on my list to pick up!

I shared yesterday about our murder mystery dinner party that my in-laws hosted. It was seriously so fun!

FRIDAY NO. 22

Happy Friday! Sorry for the radio silence around here. If you are following along on Snap chat (mrsshelbycoats) or Instagram (mrsshelbycoats) then you know I spent the end of last week and beginning of this week in Hilton Head, SC! I'll be sharing all about our trip next week, but for now here are a couple of pictures.

We got back from our trip on Monday afternoon and Matthew picked me and Ellie, my parents puppy, up to head home! My parents have been in Gatlinburg this week and we got to puppy sit for them...
And now for Ellie's sleeping pictures. She is 11 weeks old so she still gets really sleepy, really fast and will just fall asleep wherever she is. It's the cutest thing, and I'm pretty sure Matthew and I just sat and stared at her multiple times this past week lol.

Needless to say our puppy fever is at an all time high right now.

This weekend we are having my nanny's birthday and then going to a murder mystery dinner that my in-laws are hosting. We are SO excited about this murder mystery dinner, the theme is, "Bumped Off on Bourbon Street- a Mardi Gras Murder Mystery". We all have been assigned out characters already and we're dressing up like them, it's going to be so fun! I'm sure I'll be sharing it all on Snap chat. My MIL made these cute tickets for all of us, too.

This post is my 500th post! I started blogging at the end of 2012 but slacked off for a bit, and then picked it back up in 2013. I've had a few months here and there where this blog of mine got put on the back burner, but I have enjoyed it so much. I love this little space of mine, and get so much enjoyment out of this hobby. So if you are new here or have been following along for awhile now, thank YOU! I love reading your comments, emails, and even snap chats of y'all reading my blog!

I hope you all have a great 4th of July weekend!!

FRIDAY NO. 21

We are so close to the weekend, and I am very excited! We will be spending a good bit of this weekend with our families since it is Father's Day, and I am so happy about that.

Speaking of Father's Day...I text my dad the other day asking if he had any black exterior paint, because I am wanting to paint our front door black. I know to always ask him if he has any paint before I go buy some because he has SO much paint from over the years. Sadly he didn't have any paint, but he did have some mauve paint that he offered. I gladly passed on that color ;) Texting my dad is probably one of the funniest things. He just got an iPhone a couple of years ago and he LOVES emojis. He sends one for every occasion and it always cracks us up. Also, my mom makes this dessert called chocolate lasagna and my dad will literally do anything for it lol so I was trying to bribe him into building me something out of pallets with chocolate lasagna.

I am collaborating with some amazing Etsy shop owners over the next few weeks, and I can't wait to share everything with y'all, starting next week. For now, I'll share a few pictures with you. I shared these on Snap chat (mrsshelbycoats) last night and I had a ton of people asking which shop they came from, so come back next week for more information, and there may or may not be a coupon code ;)

I wish I was laying out right now soaking up all this vitamin D, but very soon I'll be soaking up all the vitamin D in HHI! So stinkin' excited!

Last but not least, We finally got to meet my parents new puppy, Ellie Mae, last night! She is a maltipoo, and is absolutely adorable. My parents brought her to my sister's softball game last night and she slept most of the games but played around towards the end of them. We were soaking up all the puppy cuddles!

She literally did this over half of the games.
 Just snoozin' away

Towards the end of the game she woke up and was ready to play though!

Matthew was one happy camper last night holding and playing with her!
She is tiny right now and I was eating it up. So much cuteness!!!!
We will be at my parents house this weekend some so get ready for more puppy snap chats. I just can't help myself. I probably made over 20 pictures of her last night lol. I told Matthew that when we do get a puppy I will have to delete all the pictures on my phone just to make room for all the pictures I KNOW that I will be making. :)
