DIY Candy dish..from the Dolla Tree

HAPPY FRIDAY!!
I don't know about y'all but this week has flown and I mean f-l-o-w-n by!! Not that I am complaining or anything because I definitely love me a weekend!

Remember about a month ago I shared with you my sisters surprise Tiffany & Co. themed birthday party? And remember how I promised I would do a how to post on the different things I made?
Well I didn't lie because I am sharing that with you today...finally....I know.

DIY candy dish

Well guess what?!
I bought this at the Dollar Tree...it didn't look anything like this when I bought it but almost everything came from Dollar Tree!!
Don't you just LOVE a DIY project with stuff from the Dollar Tree?
.

I had some crazy picture in my head for this little project and I knew exactly what I wanted to get and how I wanted it to look.
This is actually a glass bowl on top of a glass candle stick holder.
What what!?
I am in love with how it turned out!
I used Gorilla glue to glue it together and bought the spray paint at Wal Mart.
This cost me about $6 considering I already had the Gorilla glue.

I just glued the bowl on top and then let it dry for about 30 mins and then spray painted it.
Don't use too much of the Gorilla glue because it expands as it dries.

I also made this one...
DIY candy dish
It's a glass bowl on top of a drinking glass.
I did the same exact thing as the one above!
It was my first time ever using spray paint and let's just say I am looking for everything to spray paint now, I loved using it!!

Have any events coming up you could use this in?
If you make one let me know so I can look at it!!

Week 2 of training will be over this afternoon as soon as I clock out and you all know what that means...
6 more weeks of training!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! :)

That one time...

I moved out on a Sunday night and started work the next morning at 7:30 a.m.
oooh yeah that was last Sunday!!!!

I'm alive...sorry I have been such a bad blogger lately, like really bad but hopefully that will all change this week and from now on!!
I started my new job last Monday morning (6/17) bright and early at 7:30 a.m. with a mountain dew in hand. I am working full time since I moved out. I worked full time for about a month but that's about it, I am so used to working part time that I am completely exhausted...guess I won't be making fun of my parents for going to bed early anymore, ha!
So 1 week of training down....and 7 more to go BUT I can and will do this! I have only heard great things from this company and I am excited to work for them.

The moving out part....
It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, I was really nervous for some reason. The only thing I am struggling with is not having random things around...for example the other night I needed a toothpick, if I was at home I would have just walked into the kitchen and grabbed a toothpick, no big deal. Well as silly as it sounds I didn't thing to put toothpicks on my grocery list...so I didn't have a toothpick the other night. Oh well it could be worse, like running out of toilet paper...oh wait
Yeah that happened the other night too.
But we won't go there. It's okay I know you are laughing...I did too.
So I have made four a few stops at the grocery store last week picking up things that I wouldn't usually pick up every week. I keep telling myself I will get the hang of this whole living on my own thing...someone tell me I am right??
Okay, that sounds dramatic it's not that bad. I really am enjoy it and I am having fun!! I have made a few new friends at work already and they are pretty great. I am excited to get to know them better!

If you are following me on Instagram then you saw that on Monday after my first day of work Matthew drove over an hour to see me, took me to El Tap and got me a dozen red roses...
 MELT MY HEART
Y'all I just love him.
I am just so thankful for his love.
Lucky really doesn't even begin to describe it.
How have YOU been? I feel like I have spent the past hour or so just playing catch up and reading all y'all's recent posts...missed them all!

One last thing!
This is one of my absolute FAVORITES to sing at church and we sang it this past Sunday night and I have been singing it in my head on repeat so I thought I would share it with you!
It was actually recorded at CYC. I love love love CYC and I am hoping to go this year as a chaperone
Have you heard it before? Don't you just LOVE it?!!

Oh one more thing...promise it's the last
I held a snake this weekend..what what!!
I held it behind the jaw so it couldn't bite me, ha!

HAPPY TUESDAY FRIENDS!
Make it a good day!

Father's Day crafts

Did you know that I used to work at a daycare?
I was the infant teacher to 8 beautiful babies (miss them like crazy!!)
This time last year I was working at the daycare but searching for a bank job. Little did I know one of the babies in my room would lead me to my job now. The little brown eyed girl's mom worked at BOA and asked me if I knew anyone who wanted a part time job at the bank....lkjlskdgvusidvh WHAT????!!!
DID SHE KNOW I HAD JUST APPLIED TO LIKE 10 BANKS?!!
and the rest was history.
Well this time last year I was searching ideas on Pinterest for Father's Day coming up. Sure there were PLENTY of projects to do with TODDLERS but hardly any to do with infants.
I was frustrated and about to just make a card for the dad's but then I remembered this was most of their dad's first EVER Father's Day...one they will always remember...no pressure, eh?
So I racked my brain and finally came up with a few things
Project #1
Babies 1st Father's Day Craft
I traced their hands...while they were sleeping.
Sneaky Miss.Shelby
Babies 1st Father's Day poem
Project #2
Father's Day footprint craft
Did you know that if you do foot prints when it's their bottle time it will make it easier to do?
Obviously a 4 month old is not going to stand on a piece of paper and make a perfect foot print. So what I did was sit them in their high chair and take the piece of paper and clip it on a clipboard and then paint their foot, then with one hand press the clipboard to their foot while holding their foot up against the paper with the other hand.
Father's Day poem

It might not turn out perfect the first time and you might have to go through 5 pieces of paper but it's okay.
It's the thought that counts...remember?
See it looks like lil Mason only has 4 toes on his left foot.
Project #3
Do the foot print again (maybe try on their next feeding...promise it works)
and to make the polka dots use their finger.
I used poster board so it would be thicker and not tear once the paint was added.

Make sure to get a picture of them with it on like the poem says!
Hope this gave you some new ideas for Father's Day next Sunday!!

Backyard Drive In...DATE NIGHT

Well now that you know what Matthew did to surprise me for our three years, I will share with you today what I did to surprise him (mine was no where near as amazing as his, ha!)
Matthew loves going to the drive in, I remember him telling me stories of when he used to go with his youth group all the time in the summer after church on Sunday nights and he actually surprised me and took me to my very first drive in last summer and I just LOVED it!!
Here are some pictures from our Drive In

Gotta have the candy goods ;)

I used an old school desk for our concession stand and had it stocked with all our favorite snacks!

Used our initials to create this little sign...and it rhymed. Score.

and of course I made these cute lil tickets to hand him when he pulled up

My dad let me borrow his truck for the night and I just threw a bunch of pillows back there and borrowed my sisters small mattress, so the bed of the truck wouldn't hurt our backs, so very comfy!

He was definitely surprised and I would say he enjoyed it!

It was so much fun! After it got dark the weather was perfect and the movie was great :)

Our view until it was dark enough to start the movie...not so bad!

Right before we started the movie...almost dark enough!!

What we used for the screen? Two long pieces of wood and a king size sheet from Wal-Mart.
Seriously SO easy to make and it worked better than I could have hoped for!

Perfect :)

"BABE I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!"

The exact words out of my mouth when I walked into my new room at my apartment.
Y'all...I still can't even believe it!!!!
Let me back up and start from the beginning though.
Tuesday I had my interview with Averitt. After my interview I told Matthew I wanted us to ride over to my apartment and look around my room (I am already planning how to decorate it)
A little bit of our conversation on the way over there
Me:  I have to find a chest of drawers soon, because I really need one for my room
Matthew: Yeah, I know I will look for one this week
Me: In the picture I saw my bed is like up leaning up against the wall, I wanna put it down and see what it's going to look like
Matthew: Okay, we can do that
**Matthew had already told me he wanted to get my furniture for my room and paint it and I had tried talking him out of it because I was afraid it would be too expensive but he wasn't changing his mind.**
We get to the apartment and I was just walking around looking at the kitchen and stuff and I go to open my door and this is what I saw
"BABE I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE THIS RIGHT NOW"
I honestly don't think I have ever been that surprised in my life...I immediately was running around trying to look at everything and of course asking about a million questions a minute trying to figure out how he did it all.
That sneaky sneaky boyfriend of mine....
Sunday he and his family got the stuff and painted ALLLLL day last Monday (I thought it was kinda strange he didn't invite me over for their Memorial Day cookout) and on Monday night they drove up to Cookeville and set everything up for me.

Melt.
My.
Heart.

His parents picked out and bought the bed set for me and it matches everything perfectly and I
L-O-V-E it soooooo much!!!!!
Matthew had picked out the colors himself (proud/impressed girlfriend over here) and they all worked their tails off getting everything finished in time for me to see it Tuesday after my interview.
The T.V. stand
he bought wooden knobs and painted them brown and put them on this and the chest of drawers

In love with my desk...isn't it just the cutest thing you ever did see?!

My chest of drawers

and on each side of the bed are two night stands he painted brown

 Still completely in shock!!

The bed set is absolutely B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and fits me perfectly

I probably spent an hour just walking around and looking at it all and trying to figure everything out
here is a panorama view
Y'all Matthew is just THE sweetest guy I know and seeing him all excited to show me everything was probably the cutest thing ever,
I STILL can't believe he did all that and was able to keep it a secret.
Hands down the best surprise from him so far.
A HUGE thank you times a million to my amazing boyfriend and his parents and big bro for helping him and doing all this for me!!
I can't wait to move in and get to use it all!!!!

This girl

GOT A JOB.
IN COOKEVILLE.
PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW.
If you have been following along then you know that I am in the process of moving out for the first time and transferring to Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. Well I have been saving money like no other because once I move out I will be paying for everything...rent, groceries, tuition, etc.
Matthew saw that a company in Cookeville was hiring, at first I wasn't exactly for it because I really wanted to stay with banking. I ended up reading about the company more and applied for it.
After waiting and applying to more places I got a call from the company and I had an interview this past Tuesday!
On Wednesday morning a got a call and the lady offered me the job. (Insert happy dance here) Of course I accepted and she told me that my first day would be June 17th...wait what?
(insert small panic attack here)
My first day is in 14 days.
I am leaving my job, moving out, moving in and starting a new job all in the next 14 days.
(insert small panic attack again here)
Last week was CRAY CRAY and full of different emotions but I am more than happy to start this new chapter in my life. Am I nervous/scared/panicking? Uh heck yes but I KNOW this is an amazing opportunity and I am excited y'all.
The company I'll be working for is called Averitt Express.
oh and one other thing...
I will have weekends off.
I will have weekends off
one more time if you didn't get that...
I WILL HAVE WEEKENDS OFF.
I will be in training for 8 weeks and then I'll begin officially working!!
So if I am a little MIA over the next few weeks it's because I'll be packing and moving...still feels funny saying that.
Wanna know what Matthew did for our anniversary?
I am still in complete shock and can't wait to share with y'all tomorrow!!
