WEEKEND RECAP

PSA...Moana is now on Netflix! We watched it the other night and it's such a cute movie!

Saturday morning felt amazing out! It was 69 degrees and sunny, and there was a light breeze...perfection.

I went down to the pool for a few hours and had it by myself for about an hour and a half. I got plenty of sun, reading, and even took a short nap while there lol.

After the pool I came back to the house and we got ready for date night! We went to one of our local favorites in town for dinner and then saw Wonder Woman. I'm not a huge Marvel fan, but much to my surprise, it was actually a really good movie!

Sunday morning I woke up and looked over and saw this...melt my heart! They were both snoring, ha!

After church on Sunday we met my parents for lunch and then came back home and took a long nap and watched The Office. Later I ran out and got my nails done. I am loving this color lately. Perfect for summer and goes with every outfit!

We ended the weekend with some Mexican for dinner after church, and then gave Reagan her new toy. Ice cream cone toy for the summer!

FRIDAY VOL. 25 | NEW ADVENTURES

Today I turn in all 48,602 keys that I am responsible for, sign off on a couple of documents and projects that I'm over, and officially hand over my title as the office Admin to someone else.

I got promoted at work!

The end of this month marks my second anniversary with my company. I have been so incredibly patient to finally get to this level in my career, and I'm really excited for the next chapter!
Matthew and I celebrated over a delicious dinner at one of our favorites, Connors, a few weeks ago after I accepted the position, and he brought me home the prettiest bouquet of flowers that I forgot to take a picture of.

I am so thankful for my work family and for this incredible opportunity to grow in my career. I have learned from some of the best and brightest minds in the industry, and there will me so much more to learn, new friendships to make, and new experiences to gain. I am so excited and thankful for it all.

My new adventure as a Client Services Manager starts Monday!

#THECOATSHOME: GALLERY WALL

Our living room and kitchen are where we spend the most time in our house, so as you can imagine those two are two of the most decorated rooms in our house so far. Decorating and styling our living room has been a bit of a challenge for us since we've moved in since it is shaped different than most living rooms. Our living room is a good size in length, but with only one entrance to it, so we have rearranged our furniture a couple of times + added furniture, and I think we are finally to a place where we are happy with our living room arrangement!

We've added a few pieces here and there and then we decided that on our open wall that we wanted to do a gallery wall and I shared some ideas that we were leaning towards, here. So after shopping at FOUR different Targets we finally had all the frames we needed. Once we went all over middle Tennessee (literally) in search of these frames the fun part began, picking out the pictures to order. It was easy picking our pictures and even easier using Mpix to print them. What makes them even better, was when they showed up on my doorstep the very next day. I have only heard good things about Mpix, but since I was ordering such large prints I was somewhat skeptical about the clarity of them, but once again I was incredibly impressed with the quality of each photo.
It is nearly impossible to get a good picture of the frames during the day with three big windows on the opposite wall, but I wouldn't trade those windows and all that natural light for anything! We actually hung curtains in our living room last year but took them down when we painted the room and just decided to not put them back up because it took away too much of the natural light.

Matthew did a great job hanging these and we are extremely happy with how our gallery wall turned out. Every time we add something to our walls it makes it feel a little more "homey" and like everything is really coming together with our house.

Here is a picture of the other half of our living room
and a picture from our kitchen looking into our living room, to give you a better idea of the layout.

WEEKEND RECAP | FATHER'S DAY + WEDDING SHOWER

Friday night after work we headed to Murfreesboro to meet my parents for dinner at one of our favorite pizza places. After dinner we came back to the house and Ethan, Rachel and Carson came over to stay the night!

Saturday morning we woke up and I made Carson some eggs and toast and Matthew made everyone omelettes! We worked on cleaning and getting the house ready all day for the wedding shower that we were hosting that afternoon for my BIL and his fiance, Christina. It was a very small family wedding shower and we had a great time.

Please notice my mugs on the mantel in this next picture...my other BIL, Nathan, rearranged them to spell 'Tacos" instead of "Coats" and I definitely didn't notice it until later that night after everyone was gone lol.

Thankfully the rain held off until Sunday so these fur babies were able to get out in the backyard and run some energy out and play together!

Nathan stayed the night with us and after everyone left we made a quick trip to Lowe's so I could get my dad two succulents to go with his Father's Day gift. I loved them so much that I almost kept them for myself, ha! I will definitely be going back to get myself some, they had a ton of different ones that I loved!

Sunday we went to church with Matthew's parents and then met my parents after for lunch. After lunch we hung out at my parents house for most of the afternoon. My dad was pumped about his new succulents and is planting on repotting them this week.

We went to church with Matthew's parents Sunday night and then to dinner at a local place in town and it was delicious!! And they were letting all father's eat for free, such a fun and sweet surprise!

We had a great weekend with both of our families and are already looking forward to next weekend.  I am excited to share a project with you all tomorrow that we've been planning and working on for some time now!!

FRIDAY VOL. 24

Tuesday night we headed back home to watch my sister's last softball game. We had to stop and get gas on the way and Reagan always has to see Matthew while he's pumping the gas. If I don't put the window down so he can come over and talk to her then she freaks out lol.

After 16 years of playing softball in the summers this was her last year and we were happy to see them play!
The organization that we have all played with since we were little presented her with a plaque and flowers since it was the end of the season for her.

Wednesday morning we were up bright and early to meet my family for a quick breakfast and then headed over to the airport to see Mady off for the summer. She is working as a camp counselor this summer at a camp up in Maine. She sent us these pictures after she arrived to the camp and it's beautiful!!

I ordered some prints from Mpix and they delivered the very next day...talk about super fast shipping!!! More to come next week on what we're doing with them, I am so excited for this little project!!

Reagan and I took a trip to Lowe's this week for some flowers and soil. Girl was loving all of the attention again, ha!

Usually while I'm getting ready for work Reagan lays in my lap or on our bed, but one morning this past week she decided to roam around our bedroom and bathroom. I heard something fall over and walked over and saw this....that look on her face lol.

Happy Friday!!!

WHAT I'M LOVING | MAY 2017

The other day I realized that it was almost the middle of June and I haven't shared last month's installment of my What I'm Loving series where I share what I've been loving that month in the following categories: Makeup/Beauty Products, Music, Home Decor/Products, Food/Drinks, Clothing/Accessories, and Priceless (side note: each month might not include every category I just listed!) You can find April's post here! So here is what I've been loving in May...

Makeup/Beauty Product
  • Essie - Sweet Soufflé - I picked this up the other day and I am loving it for summer! I have been on the search for a pretty white nail polish for this summer and this one is perfect!
Food/Drink
  • Cheeseburger pizza - I posted about this last month, but it's worth another mention because it's so delicious and I have probably made it three more times this past month! Homemade pizzas are super easy and cheap...the perfect Friday night meal when you don't feel like cooking and washing a whole lot of dishes. ;)
  • Garlic Parmesan Chicken Tenders - I made this recently, too, and it turned out better than I expected!
  • Starbucks Vanilla Iced Coffee with Caramel - I don't go to Starbucks often, usually only when I have a gift card, but I tried this the other day and have seriously been thinking about it way too much. Just a simple drink and it actually isn't crazy priced like some other drinks I've tried there!
Home Decor/Products
  • Magic Erasers - These have been around for years, but I recently discovered that these things can clean your glass shower doors better than anything else!! I use these on just about everything else around the house, but by far my favorite thing to use them for is our glass shower door.
  • Patio furniture - We bought this set last month and absolutely LOVE it. This set is the perfect size for our patio and is very comfy! I have definitely enjoyed lounging around on it in the mornings while I take Reagan out or as soon as I get home from work.
Clothing/Accessories
  • White Skinny Jeans - I needed some new white jeans this year and I am loving this pair from Old Navy!!
  • Magnolia Quarter Strap Sandals - I picked these up last month at Target and LOVE them, Not only are they really comfy but they are adorable and go with everything.
  • Relaxed Off-the-Shoulder Swing Top - This shirt from Old Navy is going to be a staple for this summer. It's cute and lightweight, which is perfect for these hot and humid days we are already having!
Priceless
  • Celebrating Mother's Day Weekend at home with our families.
  • Reagan having her first puppuccino and loving it!!
  • Recapping how we met and celebrating 7 years of togetherness on May 29th!
  • Watched the Pred's in the playoffs and experienced one of the best seasons EVER.
  • Celebratory dinner with Matthew...more on that to come later this month! He is the sweetest and is always so encouraging. LOVE THAT MAN.

WEEKEND RECAP

Our weekend kicked off when we hit the road to Chattanooga Friday afternoon. We stopped and got Chick-Fil-A for the road and we quickly realized it had been too long since we last had it.
I always appreciate when companies use pretty fonts on their advertisements, I am a self proclaimed font snob and will definitely be drawn in to an advertisement a lot quicker if it has pretty font lol.
So when I saw an Aldi truck on our road trip, I quickly pointed it out to Matthew.

Saturday afternoon was my BIL's engagement party and we had a great time! The weather was wonderful so people were able to play some outside games after we ate dinner.

TWO months from today Jenny and I get another sister, woo hoo!
 Siblings-couple-picture!

Sunday after church we cleaned the house and did yard work all.day.long. but it's all finished and we got A LOT done!

And last, but certainly not least, hockey season is over, and it wasn't the outcome we all hoped for here in Nashville. It was a heck of a season and The Preds proved to everyone and themselves that they could make it this far...I mean it is almost the middle of JUNE and we were still watching The Pred's play!!!! But that's okay, they'll be back and until then we'll keep standing with them!
Also, this post....ALL THE FEELS. I just really love this city and the past few weeks have been absolutely incredible seeing everyone in navy and gold and coming together to watch the playoff games. There is so much pride in this town for our boys and I am already excited for next season!

FRIDAY VOL. 23

Obviously my Friday post is going to start out about the game last night..it was horrible, but this was even worse. If you're a Crosby fan, I'm sorry, but he is just a really dirty player. I literally still can't get over this from last night. Aaaand end rant!

Matthew watched The Office a long time ago and loved it, and has been trying to get me to watch it for years. I finally caved this week, but I have to admit that I am struggling to catch interest in it!! I posted this picture on my instastories and had a few people respond that the first season isn't the best but that it gets better after that, so I am giving it a try!

My sister came over one night this week and after we ate dinner at home we booked it down to Jeni's for dessert! I tried the wild lavender and it was definitely wild lol but good, and then the classic strawberry! You just can't beat Jeni's!!!

I snapped this picture Thursday morning of us in our Pred's attire lol. Sadly, those shirts did not bring us any luck!!

I've mentioned it before, but I really LOVE our backyard!! Reagan loves to run around in it and I love to sit on the back patio and read while she plays. We will be spending so much time out here this summer!

CURRENTLY | JUNE 2017

Linking up with Erin and Anne today for The Currently linkup!

Planning | All the things!!!! Seriously, all the things. Some I can't share just yet, but I'm excited about them all, and so in my element. I love planning events, it is oddly relaxing to me, ha! I have so many secret boards going on Pinterest right now and about 100 to-do lists going...my planner is looking extra messy right now, and I love it.

Wishing | That I liked healthier foods. I like a very select few vegetables and fruits, and it would definitely help if I liked more lol. Maybe if I just start making myself eat them I will eventually like them...is it just an acquired taste or am I never going to like certain vegetables?? Also, wishing/crossing my fingers/hoping that the Pred win the Stanley Cup!!!!!!

Learning | That I can't just eat whatever I want and not work out like I did when I was younger. It's the sad truth and it kinda just slaps you in the face when you realize it....womp womp womp. There has to be some balance and I'm still trying to learn that. ;)

Browsing | All the house plans! I think I've mentioned it on here before, but we eventually want to build our 'forever' home. Not anytime soon of course, but eventually we do and it's really fun to look at different house plans and daydream. And all the different ideas for my office at home. Remember my dream desk that Matthew surprised me with for our first married Christmas?? Well I have been on the search to find another one, preferably the same one, to put in my office and make it sort of an "L" shape in the corner, and it retails for $1,100!!!!! Insert all the wide eye, eye rolling, crying face emojis. So I have been looking into a cheaper option (obviously) and found a desk similar, but I would have to spray paint the metal legs and hardware gold to match my desk now, but to save around $1000 I am more than okay with doing that. I just hope they are the same height, it would look real funny if they weren't lol. Seriously, who spends that much money on a desk? We really lucked out when we found it at Home Goods for way less than that.

Going | to my BIL's engagement party this weekend! They are getting married in early August so this starts all of the wedding festivities for them, woo hoo!

WE WANT THE CUP

Y'all. Nashville was crazy this past weekend...it's been crazy since the playoffs started but this weekend was definitely the craziest I have ever seen it. And it was incredible.
A couple of months ago, Matthew was out to lunch with a coworker and while they were eating in come some of the Predators for lunch. He talked to some people and found out that's where they eat lunch before every single home game, so Matthew has been back a couple of times and sure enough, they are there! So we decided to take our creeping to a whole new level and go there for lunch on Saturday. Ethan and Rachel joined us and it was so awesome. I have always laughed at people freaking out over famous people, but I was full on fangirling when MIKE FISHER walked in. And when I made eye contact with Filip Forsberg I almost spit out my water. I kept my cool though, only turning around every .5 seconds...I didn't walk over to the area they were eating in and take pictures like one lady kept doing...so rude! However, I did snap a couple of pictures after they left the restaurant and were walking down the street....

Carrie Underwood's man...

That's all the pictures I got, but there were others there too! A lot of them wear a hat and sunglasses and keep their head down as they are walking in and leaving the restaurant so people don't spot them, and it worked! We didn't see a single player get stopped outside of the restaurant.

We went downtown Saturday afternoon for the game, but sadly we didn't stay for the game because it was just too crowded and we wouldn't have been able to see it on the big screen, but I'm so glad we got to at least experience some of it, even if it was crazy hot.

We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings right before the game and then watched it at home with our friends, Ethan, Rachel, Justin, and Lexi, and it was a lot of fun, and a good game!

and here are some pictures that were shared all over Facebook...look at this crowd!!

And the mayor of Nashville shared this on Facebook last night after we WON game four! I love how everyone is really getting into it!

and then there is the catfish fad going on right now lol I can't stop laughing at all the catfish posts!! This one had a glittery hat, was wrapped in a Pred's towel and had a stuffed penguin in it's mouth.

It's also really fun seeing who they will get to sing the National Anthem before each game. They are keeping it a surprise and have everyone guessing and voting on who they think it will be next. So far they have had Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Vince Gill and his daughters, Trisha Yearwood, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride, and last night, Dierks Bentley!!
We're ready for game 5 this Thursday...we want the cup!
