WEEKEND RECAP | FALL FUN WEEKEND

Friday night I went to dinner with some friends from work downtown. I am so thankful for these girls and so happy that I have coworkers who I actually want to hangout with outside of the office- they are so fun!

Saturday morning we did stuff around the house and I made it out to three different grocery stores in under two hours...on a Saturday morning...I'd say that's pretty good! Saturday afternoon we went to my parents for my cousin's birthday party and it was a lot of fun! She wanted to do all the fall fun things, so that's what we did. We had our first outside fire of the season to keep us warm and for the hot dogs and s'mores. She had some friends over too, which she really enjoyed and she told me later that this was the best birthday, EVER! Woo hoo for turning 12!

We missed my other sister, who was at the beach for fall break!

My dad has always made a pretty fall setup in our yard every year, and this year he made a huge one. How cute is this?!
a closer look at this...part of a tree that he hallowed out to sit flowers down in- so cute!

I also got to get some of the sweetest baby cuddles in from my cousin. He is almost 5 months now!

On Sunday morning I taught the kindergarten class at church and they were just the sweetest and funniest group of kiddos! I am so excited to be teaching them some this quarter! After church we came home and I made a big pot of chicken and dumplings- cooler weather means all the comfort food! Sunday was also Reagan's gotcha day (I can't believe we brought her home 2 years ago this past weekend!) and our best friends birthday. Since they were in town we celebrated her birthday with milkshakes at The Legendairy Milkshake Bar! So fun and the shakes were delicious. Matthew and I definitely split one though, because they were HUGE! We got 'Rolling in the Cookie Dough'.

We ended the weekend with a big pot of chili!

Such a fun fall weekend!

LIFE LATELY | ROUNDING OUT SEPTEMBER

Life has been full speed lately and this past weekend was the first weekend in months where we had zero plans. We took advantage of that and other than running a few errands on Saturday afternoon and church on Sunday, we stayed in the whole weekend!

Since it's been a little bit since I did a 'life lately' post, here are a few snip-its from the past couple of weeks to round out September.

Last Saturday we went to 'Family Fourth' at Matthew's parents house and then we all went bowling. It was a really fun time and the perfect activity to do since it was a rainy day out.

The rain continued on into the week and I do believe it rained every single day of last week. The rain did bring cooler weather and I did not mind it one bit while I worked from home. I opened the window in my office and listened to it rain all day while the cooler weather came in. So relaxing and a nice change from the HOT weather.

Reagan was a huge fan of it too. Her favorite place to stay when I work from home, in one of our dining room chairs I brought up to my office by the window.

Working from home is great until they ask to use cameras and you are in your comfy clothes and have no makeup on lol!

One afternoon last week my uncle surprised me by stopping by the house with this ADORABLE wreath that he found at Home Goods! He knew that we hosted Friendsgiving every year and said I needed it. He's the sweetest!

No political talk here, but I watched the whole senate hearing last Thursday and snapped this picture of Reagan at the perfect moment- it looks like she is watching it too here lol.

I have been doing a lot of painting projects recently. I forgot how much I love painting. Reagan has not been enjoying that because she can't sit in my lap while I paint. I snapped this picture Saturday morning because I took a break from painting and she jumped in my lap as soon as I put the paint brush down, ha!

Matthew grilled us delicious burgers for dinner on Saturday (we had plenty for leftovers too -woo hoo!) night and we watched the State vs. Florida game.

Reagan found a turtle in our backyard while Matthew was grilling. We had to put her inside to get the little fella to safety....away from her and on the OTHER side of the fence.

We bought new curtains for our living room last month and we absolutely LOVE them. Since our kitchen opens up to our living room I wanted to use the same design. We bought another pair (Amazon for the win!) and I took it to my seamstress in town and she made them into valances for us. They turned out beautifully and I hung them up Saturday night. We are so happy with them and only regret not doing this sooner. I'll share more soon!

WEEKEND RECAP

We both worked from home on Friday, which obviously meant that we had to go to Chick-fil-A for lunch. I had a call soon after lunch so we just got it to go, so Reagan came along for the ride.

The weekend started promptly as soon as I shut down my computer on Friday and I booked it to Murfreesboro to watch my sister's soccer game. It was a good game, but they ended up losing. We still cheered her on the only way we know how to, loud and proud.

Saturday we woke up and worked on things around the house. I ended up putting this cube organizer together for our hall closet downstairs. I am loving having it in our hall closet so far, now if only this area could stay this organized for longer than 2 days. ;)

I also replanted all of my succulents over the weekend. I love the morning light that comes through our kitchen windows each day!

I also noticed some new baby blooms on the plant that Matthew's grandmother gave me a few months ago!

Saturday afternoon we met my family for mine and my dad's birthday dinner. It was good to see the whole family! My youngest sister and I showed up practically wearing the same outfit lol.

WEEKEND RECAP | COUNTY FAIR 2018

Matthew wanted to cook dinner on Friday night...ladies listen when your husband says he wants to make dinner (on a Friday night!!!!) you LET him! He created a 'Surf & Turf' meal and it was delicious! Steak and crab cakes....might just be my new favorite meal. It was delicious! We ate dinner and then watched a movie...perfect date night at home.

Saturday we had a lazy and slow morning around the house before making a run to Sam's Club for some items to stock up on. We headed to Cookeville early Saturday afternoon to hangout with Ethan and Rachel for the rest of the day. We ate lunch at a local place, Crawdaddy's, and it was just as good as I remember. I had crab cakes, again, and some roasted red potatoes! Later we went to the Putnam County Fair and got the full fair experience. Monster trucks, fair food, crowds and all!

Reagan and Lincoln got some play time in too during our visit!

Sunday after church we went to lunch with some friends to a local Irish Pub. I haven't been to many Irish Pub's, but this one had pretty good food. We tried Scotch Eggs for the first time and they were actually really good!

Sunday afternoon I cleaned out, deep cleaned, and organized our refrigerator and freezer. While Matthew cooked dinner Friday night I did the same to our pantry! They all definitely needed it and it feels so good to have everything organized and cleaned out. I have been craving vegetable soup so I made a huge pot of it for the week!

WEEKEND RECAP

We had such a fun weekend!

I snapped this picture of Reagan on Friday, whenever I run bath water for her she peaks over the side of the tub just like this and it's adorable!

Friday after work we went over to the house of a sweet couple from church for dinner and to work on some things for VBS that is this week. Matthew and this gentleman got put in charge of crafts at VBS so we worked on spray painting cute little treasure boxes that they're going to let the kids decorate to take home. This sweet couple just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary and spent a good bit of time sharing their travel adventures with us. They have been all over the world, literally, in their 49 years (they just got back from Israel in the fall!!) and it was so interesting to hear all their stories and see pictures. The sweet lady even showed me her travel book collection, which is huge, and said I am welcome to them anytime. When we got ready to leave they stood on their front porch waving bye as we drove away and I told Matthew I definitely felt like I was leaving my grandparents house lol! We are going to have them over for dinner soon so that they can teach us a new card game they learned recently.

Our best friends, Ethan and Rachel, came over later Friday night and we all hung out for awhile watching baseball before calling it a night. Tennessee Tech and Mississippi State were playing all weekend (and still going!!!!) so we watched a lot of baseball this weekend, very exciting games!

Saturday we woke up and made a huge brunch! Matthew did most of it on his flat top and I made homemade biscuits. There was so much food and we have a ton leftover for some breakfast this week,,,woo hoo!

After brunch we decided to make a Sam's Club trip and stopped by Bargain Hunt on the way home. I found the cutest sports bra and athletic tanks at Sam's Club and they were both under $10...such a great deal! Saturday afternoon we went to dinner at one of our favorites, Demo's, and then went to the movies to see Ocean's 8. It was such a good movie- with a great cast!!!! After dinner we had a little bit of time before our movie started so we went down to the outlet mall and checked out Bath and Body Works candle sale. Rachel and I ended up purchasing the same exact candle (pineapple mango- smells heavenly) and didn't even realize it until later that night when we got back to the house, ha!

Sunday we went to church and then came back home and Matthew made hibachi chicken and fried rice on the flat top for lunch. It was delicious! Sunday night started VBS so we got to church early Sunday afternoon to set up Matthew's craft booth! I am a tribe leader this week with the 3 and 4 year old age group, they are adorable and definitely keeping me on my toes!

WEEKEND RECAP

The first weekend of June was a good one! We didn't have any major plans, so we got a lot done around the house and relaxed some too.
Reagan was full on chilling while I worked on Friday, it didn't last too long though. She wanted to chill in my lap while I finished up a call....diva.
I posted this on my instastory on Friday and quite a few of you said that you love this too!
It's so tasty and refreshing. We decided to go to my sister's softball game on Friday night, the weather was great and they won their game!
Saturday morning we cleaned out the garage, it wasn't in too bad of shape, so it only took us about an hour. I started pressure washing our back patio on Saturday, thinking it wasn't going to take too terribly long. Well joke was on me, because the previous owners of our house painted the UNCOVERED patio...which made it incredibly hard to get the paint up. Here is the before, I'll share more later this week!
Saturday we went to dinner and a movie! We saw Adrift and it was really good. It was based on a true story, so that made it even more interesting. We went to a theater in the town next to ours because it has reclining chairs...so nice!
Sunday we made a Sam's Club run after church and then came home and I got started back on the pressure washing. We ended up having to make two Lowe's trips, but Reagan wasn't complaining. She was excited for the trip to one of her favorite places, ha!
