LIFE LATELY

Last Thursday night our sweet neighbor text us and said he had 4 all inclusive tickets to the Pred's game that night. We gratefully accepted them and invited my sister and best friend! Sadly we lost, but we still had a really fun time!!

These two are the cutest!!

Last Wednesday I purchased my first set of Powersheets...and they delivered two DAYS later! Talk about fast shipping!! I have been looking through them and I can't wait to really start using them.

I woke up Friday morning pretty early to prep for a presentation before work and Reagan followed me downstairs and ended up falling back asleep for a little bit. Look at that sleepy face!

Friday night Matthew and I went to dinner to celebrate me finishing my big presentation at work. We thought about trying a new place, but ended up going to one of our favorites, Connors. I was craving crab cakes and the definitely delivered.

It was rainy and cold Friday night so we decided to just head back home after dinner. The Pred's game started before we made it home so Matthew had me pull it up on his phone so we could listen to it on our way home.

Saturday morning I took some pictures for a sweet friend and her family. I also got to meet their new daughter, they adopted her earlier this year and I finally got a chance to meet her. She was the adorable.

Saturday night my dad's best friend's son got married and my dad officiated their wedding! The wedding was beautiful and I was so proud of my dad. This was his first wedding and he was a little nervous, but did so good! They actually got married where my best friend got married 2 years ago. Such a beautiful venue!

Love my sweet family!

It was freezing again so we came straight home after the wedding and turned the fire on. We watched Friends for a little bit before calling it a day.

Sunday after church and lunch we came home and decided to have a lazy day. We did get laundry done, but we definitely enjoyed the time of rest.
Someone else enjoyed all the rest we got on Sunday.

We ended the weekend with yet another fire. Perfect way to end the weekend if you ask me!

WEEKEND RECAP | CHATTANOOGA + RETIREMENT PARTY

We drove down to Chattanooga after I got off last Friday afternoon to see my BIL and SIL. They moved into a new house a couple of months ago and our crazy schedules have kept us from going to see it. Their house is beautiful and in the cutest neighborhood. We got there late afternoon and ate dinner at their house. After dinner we watched Girls Trip. It was hilarious and definitely a good movie if you're looking for a good laugh.

Saturday we went to Tremont Tavern for lunch and it was such a fun atmosphere. I got the pimento cheeseburger and it was delicious.

After lunch we visited for a little bit longer before packing up and heading home. My best friend's family was throwing her dad a retirement party and we were excited to celebrate him!

The party was held at Carriage Lane Inn and it was truly a beautiful and fun night. I am so thankful for a best friend's family who is like my own.

My best friend's husband and his grandfather and brother played some bluegrass music for everyone. They were so good!

How cute is this picture of Matthew and sweet baby Millie?!?!?!? All the heart eyes.

FRIDAY VOL. 32

Fall is finally here, and while it still gets pretty warm during the day, the cool mornings and afternoons are so nice!

I am on the search for a cute lightweight utility jacket and I love the burgundy/wine color look. I have found this one on Amazon, but the reviews are a little skeptical. If you know where to find any send them my way!!!

I worked from home earlier this week and Reagan was LOVING it and I did too! ;)
Girlfriend was hammin' it up being able to lay in my lap while I worked all day.
The weather was SO nice one day that I decided to sit outside while I took some calls. I could definitely get used to working from home more often, ha!

I have been "studying" for work this week and it made me feel like I was back in school again...worst feeling ever, but I am almost finished with what I am working on!

We had our carpets cleaned this week and they look SO much better!! Definitely worth the extra money to have them professionally done- and just in time for Friendsgiving next month. Woo hoo!

PLANNING FOR 2018

It absolutely blows my mind that we are already in the last quarter of 2017!! I'm not really sure where the year went, or how it even went by so quickly, but here we are, October. October starts my three favorite months of the year. I feel like our house is the coziest/warmest during the last quarter of the year. Probably because of our fall and then Christmas decorations and the fact that I try and turn on our fire place every chance I can get while we are home, ha!

Matthew and I have some PTO to burn so we are both taking the week off after Thanksgiving again this year. Last year we left the Monday after Thanksgiving and went on a week long cruise. While the cruise was really nice and really fun, we have decided to have a staycation during that week this year. We are both really looking forward to that week and have been tossing around a couple of ideas and plans. We both agreed we just want a couple of low-key days, but I want to spend some of that week preparing for 2018. Matthew and I are going to sit down one day that week and plan out some goals for 2018- marriage, financial, health, home projects, career, travel, and just life in general goals. My type A personality is too excited about this.

I also want to set some personal goals for myself for 2018. I used to post about monthly goals here on the blog, but this year I didn't. I actually haven't even really set monthly goals this year and I can definitely tell that I need goal setting back in my life! After a ton of research and hearing so many great things from other bloggers/friends I am going to purchase and work through Lara Casey's Powersheets for 2018.

I am really excited about this and I think it will get myself back on track for goal planning for 2018. I have been watching the Cultivate What Matters Team's video of the Powersheets and it just makes me even more excited. I have a reminder set in my calendar for once they go on sale so I can snag a set before they sell out. I have decided on the 2018 Powersheets One-Year Intentional Goal Planner.

The live videos that they do on Instagram and Facebook and this post helped me decide on the full year set rather than the six month set. I also really love the cover! So cute but not over the top.

They are supposed to ship the day you purchase them so I am excited to think that these will be here in time for our week after Thanksgiving off, so that I can really look through it and start planning for 2018 with it.

Another thing I am really looking forward to, Emily Ley's new book, A Simplified Life!!!!! I just pre-ordered it on Amazon and I am crossing my fingers that it will arrive soon after the release date of, November 21st, so that I can read it while I am off as well.

I read Emily's first book, Grace not Perfection, and loved it, so I have no doubt that this one will be just as good. I also went to her book signing with my sister when she came to Nashville earlier this year. I have heard her mention in her live videos that she will be doing another book signing tour early next year, so we are crossing our fingers that she makes it back to Nashville!!

One of my favorite quotes is by Benjamin Franklin,
"If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail."

WEEKEND RECAP | FALL FUN WEEKEND

This weekend was a fun fall filled weekend and we woke up to fall like weather this morning. The high for today is supposed to be in the lower 60's and we are THRILLED.

Thursday night we took Reagan to her first training class and she rocked it!

After we got back home I worked on some stuff around the house and she was tired from her class so she made herself right at home beside me at the dining room table.

Friday night we went to my parents for dinner and ended up sitting around the fire and having s'mores.

Saturday morning we headed to Cookeville for a few hours. Our main reason for going was to pick out my favorite mums for our fall front porch setup. We decided to go to our favorite Chinese place for lunch while we were there. We haven't been able to find a Chinese place that we really like where we live now, so we were pumped for some good Chinese food.

A couple of months ago a friend on Facebook asked if anyone would be willing to do a small Karate demo at her daughter's birthday party. Since my dad is a 7th degree, I volunteered him lol. He was excited about it and I told him I would help him. It only lasted about an hour, but the kids were so impressed with my dad lol when he walked out with his uniform on they all gasped and got quite lol. It was adorable and I enjoyed spending time with my dad! He taught them a couple of things, broke some boards and then we let the kids take turns kicking and punching the pads. My dad was 100% in his element.

Saturday night our best friends came over and we went to dinner at one of our favorites, Demo's! Sunday after church I took a long nap and then put our favorite recipe together in the crock-pot for dinner after church. It was cold and a rainy night, so the perfect meal. Later some friends came over and everyone played Mexican Train.

FRIENDSGIVING INVITATION | 2017

It's that time of the year again, Friendsgiving is right around the corner and we are planning away. I have mentioned it before, but Friendsgiving is my favorite event to host every year. I'm still working on the tablescape for this year, but finished up this year's invitation a few weeks ago.

I have blocked out our address, for obvious reason, but here is the invitation for our third annual Friendsgiving!

The Facebook event has already been created and we are counting down the days until we can have all of our closest friends around our table enjoying a delicious meal....a month from today actually!! I'll mail these out in about a week or two, and since we always do potluck style, the food list will be going around soon.
