WEEKEND RECAP | SUMMER WEEKENDS ARE THE BEST

This weekend was so, so good! We didn't have any plans or anywhere to be, so we just did whatever we felt like, and it was incredible. I spent time at the pool, we took a few naps, we got stuff done around the house, got caught up on laundry, made three Home Depot trips, grocery shopped, meal planned for the week, watched some Netflix, went out to eat, and just had the best weekend together with some really nice weather. We are so thankful for weekends like this!

Friday night I did some dinner party prep for our second annual Summer Soiree
coming up in a few weeks!
My BIL gifted us an address stamp right after we bought our house and I LOVE it!

I was working on addressing the invites at our table in the dining room and brought a blanket in there for Reagan to lay down on and she fell asleep 10 minutes later lol.

Saturday morning I got to the pool pretty early and had it to myself all of 5 minutes lol. Only one other family was there so it was still pretty empty and quite. The weather was perfect!! Matthew worked on his grill while I was at the pool. A storm we had awhile ago flipped his grill completely, so he had to do a little cleaning/repair on it.
Later on the sun came out and it warmed up a little more!

Saturday night we took Reagan on a walk and walked over to the house in our neighborhood that someone has bought and is flipping. They just listed it on the market and had all the lights on so we took a little peak...it's nice and they did a great job flipping it this summer!

We came back to the house and I worked on washing and cutting up some fruit we had picked up at the store earlier that day for the week.

Sunday morning when our alarms went off for church Reagan didn't budge lol.
Girl was still tired I guess!

Like I said, it was a really good weekend. The only time I put on real clothes and makeup was for church on Sunday, ha!
I love summer!

FRIDAY VOL. 29

For dinner Monday night I had planned for us to have pork tenderloin with a couple of sides. When I got home Monday I remembered that I forgot to put it in the crock pot that morning, so sandwiches it was for dinner. I wasn't even too upset about it because that was the easiest and quickest prep for dinner, and that meant no dishes...YAS. We usually like to do these kind of meals on Friday nights or Saturdays for a quick lunch but having this on a Monday night was nice for a change!

Last Friday night Matthew showed me his inbox for work and I do believe my heart stopped for a few seconds after seeing 5,000+ emails. So on Wednesday night he showed me that he was at 59 and then last night he was at inbox ZERO! My OCD heart is proud.

We were running some errands the other night and decided to stop by Chick-Fil-A for a milkshake...best idea ever. Their peach milkshake is so, so good! The best treat for a hot summer night.

I was sitting outside with Reagan the other night and the sunset was incredibly beautiful. Y'all know I am a sucker for this kinda stuff. There are probably about 50 pictures of different sunsets on my phone...no shame.

Every night before bed Reagan likes to lay on the couch with me and fall asleep. She usually lays on my legs or at my feet but the other night she decided to lay right beside me, and under the blanket.

Later she woke up and was rockin' this hair.

I received the sweetest package in the mail the other day from Ashley.

She made me a hat with the cutest pineapple on the front and my monogram on the back. She knows me so well! How cute is this hat?!

I can't wait to wear this hat this weekend, so cute and perfect for summer! Thank you, Ashley!!

Last night I went to dinner with my two best friends. I usually go back home for our girls nights, but we decided to go to The Pharmacy in Nashville so they picked me up from work and headed there. Such a fun Thursday night! We went to Jeni's after dinner for some ice cream. The perfect summer girls night, if you ask me!

If you didn't see my post the other day, I would love your suggestions + tips when it comes to dealing with online photo storage!!

ONLINE PHOTO STORAGE - HELP!

I know I said I'd share about our Charleston trip this week, but it looks like I won't get around to sharing that until next week. Womp womp womp. Busy weeks put this little blog of mine on the back burner, and that's OKAY! :)

I did want to pop in here today and ask for y'all's help though, I am looking to store my pictures online somewhere. I want to store them on a hard drive as well as a place online in case something were to happen to either, I would hopefully have a back up storage location.

So, where do y'all store your pictures online? Google Drive or some place else?

Send me all your suggestions, please!!

FRIDAY VOL. 28

If you follow along over on my Instagram then you probably saw that we went to Charleston for a few days. It's was a very last minute trip and we had the best time celebrating our 2nd anniversary in the beautiful town. Next week I'll do a recap on our trip, but for now here are a few pictures!

- We're getting back into our routines, but like always, coming back from vacation is rough! We were extremely excited to get back to our sweet girl though. My in-laws kept her and she loved staying with them!

- I am finally starting to like The Office. Jim and Pam are completely hitting me in all my feels, ha! I have been warned by many people that the last episode will leave me sobbing.

- What are your favorite items at Aldi? I have heard their pizza is really good, so I am going to try one of those next time I'm in there to grocery shop, but i'd love to know more of your Aldi favorites!

2 YEARS OF MARRIAGE

Happy 2nd anniversary, my love. The one who has chosen to walk alongside me in spite of me. The one who wakes up with intent to honor me above himself. The one who offers grace-upon-grace to my selfishness, fears, and lack of faith. Your love has changed me for the better, and I pray for many more years of sweet, sweet refinement through our marriage. Thank you for leading us well, challenging me towards boldness, making me laugh constantly, and truly knowing my heart.  I'm so proud to be yours, and I'm just as giddy over you today as I was the day I married you. Life with you is my favorite adventure!

FRIDAY VOL. 27

(via)

Happy Friday!

- What are you must do's/see's/eats in Charleston, SC?

- It has been very hot this past week and I feel like I am instantly walking into an oven every time I step outside. Definitely perfect pool weather!

- I have been looking into purchasing a few tube of LipSense from a distributor, but I wanted to know y'all's thoughts? From everything I hear/see ladies are obsessing over it, but I'm a bit skeptical about taking it off at the end of the day. Do you have to buy something else to remove it or does it come off easily with warm water? Send me your tips + tricks and favorite colors!

- It is so hard to believe that our TWO year anniversary is next week. Some days I still can't believe we're actually married and then there are days where it feels like we've been married for years (in the best way!)

BISCUIT AND GRAVY CASSEROLE | BREAKFAST RECIPE

I made this casserole this past weekend and Matthew and I both agreed that this recipe is a keeper! Easy, quick, and delicious is the best way to get my attention when it comes to recipe searching and this recipe nails all three.

Ingredients:
2 cans(16oz) large, flaky biscuits
1 pound ground breakfast sausage
4 Tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
3 cups milk
2 Tablespoon melted butter

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Open cans of biscuits and cut into quarters. Set aside.

2. Prepare a 9 x 13 casserole dish with cooking spray. Then ayer half of the quarters in prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

3. Next, brown ground sausage over medium/high heat until cook through. Reduce heat to medium.

4. In a small bowl mix together flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Sprinkle the cooked sausage with flour mixture. Stir flour mixture into sausage until completely absorbed.

5. Next, add in milk and stir to combine. Stir frequently until mixture comes to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and continue to simmer and stir until gravy has started to thicken, (about 5 minutes).

6. Pour gravy over your bottom layer of cooked biscuits. Layer the remaining uncooked, biscuit pieces over the gravy.

7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. If you would like, brush 1-2 Tablespoons of melted butter over the tops of the biscuits

This recipe is great for larger groups as well because it makes a lot! Since it's just the two of us, we've been eating it for breakfast this week. Can't go wrong with leftovers! ;)
