Friday Letters

This week has been one for the books! So much going on each day and each night I just want to sit down and watch a good movie, or sit down for the entire time of a movie and do nothing, either would be fine lol.

Last weekend we went to Cookeville and brought TWO full car loads of my stuff and this weekend we are doing the same. This time we are calling in for some help from our families and their trucks :) My lease is up tomorrow, so everything's gotta go! I'm a bit emotional about letting my little apartment go (I know, I'm crazy). This was my first place I had all to myself. I didn't have to ask before I decorated or moved anything around, I didn't have to make sure it was 100% spotless every single moment, it was my hiding place when I needed some alone time, and it was just mine. Now of course I love having my forever roommate and our new apartment but I'll always love my little ole Cookeville apartment :)

Dear August, I really can't even believe you are here. Part of me wants to sob that July, our wedding month, is officially over and the other part wants to jump for joy because we started this month as a married couple. July was such a sweet, sweet month.

Dear weekend, HEEEEEY, just a few more hours until we meet again ;) Dear feet, so sorry I've tortured you all week with different heels and wedges but they are so cute and look good with my outfits! Dear work, you.have.been.crazy. Dear Nashville home, I am so ready to have everything unpacked, in it's place, organized, and cleaned! I promise this time next week everything will be done! Dear routine, I can't wait to have you back. I live for routine and a schedule and not having one has been killing me! Dear weather, please hold off on the rain and heat this weekend as we are moving my stuff and taking it down a flight of stairs and then up three other flights of stairs (Can someone say GETTIN' MY WORKOUT IN?!?!) Dear wedding photographer, our sweet Heather, we are so excited to see our pictures and I know you did an amazing job on them. Also, can't wait to see you soon to make my bridals!! Dear HGTV, you have been playing in the background as I unpack and fold clothes every night this week. Thanks for making me want to do beach house flips now!! Dear meal planning, this is the first week we have been able to actually meal plan, and I think I like our little system we did. I think it's definitely going to work for us! Can't wait to share with y'all soon!! For now here is one of the meals we had, and no that's not chili and no that's not sour cream. I made Cheeseburger Shepard's Pie! I tried two new meals this week. We are going to tweak this one a little more to our liking, but the skinny enchiladas were a hit!

Dear Matthew, my sweet, sweet husband, THANK YOU for all that you do for us! You have put our two console tables and bathroom cabinet together this week even though you were exhausted from work (THEY LOOK SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!). You helped out with dinner, cleaning, and unpacking all my stuff from my Cookeville apartment, and even made me the best strawberry icee. You are THE best and I am so excited to spend this whole weekend with you (we get to do that like every weekend now because we are MARRIED and live TOGETHER!!!!!!!). I promise as soon as we have a free weekend it will be all about YOU.

I failed on posting about our honeymoon, the pictures are all still on my camera lol, they haven't even made it to the computer. Soon y'all soon.

Happy Weekend!!!! :)

Life Lately + Good News

The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind and I just think back on our wedding day with such happiness in my heart. I could just cry thinking about how amazing our wedding day was and I want to jump up and down thinking about how incredibly joyful I've been since. Y’all are the best for all your sweet comments during this exciting season of life. Once we get a second to stop and breathe I will share everything with y’all! Fingers crossed I can share about our honeymoon with y’all this week, but for now here is a picture from our trip!

It’s still so hard to believe our honeymoon has already come and gone. Seriously?!?! Our engagement is over, the best day ever happened, honeymoon happened, and now we are MARRIED and at HOME.
 THIS IS REAL LIFE.
July absolutely flew by, and I am still trying to wrap my mind around everything.

A pretty big thing happened a few weeks before we got married.
I got a new job!!!!

I started at the end of June and I have been loving it so far. God's timing is always so, so perfect.
I had applied to a few places in and around the Nashville area because commuting back and forth to Cookeville after we got married isn't something I would like to do. Gas prices aren't going down either!
I have a mutual friend my new job and she is the one that I contacted about the position.
I had applied to the job I now have and had an interview but received an email stating they decided to hire internally. I was pretty bummed out, but Matthew encouraged me to look for more places and that I would find something. He really is the sweetest and was so willing to help me look for a new job. Well about two weeks later she messaged me and asked if I would still be interested in that position. I responded immediately with a huge YES. She said she would tell the HR Director and then they would go from there. He called me the following Monday with a job offer, and of course I accepted!! Talk about being blessed! As soon as I got off of work that day I drove straight to Matthew's apartment in Nashville and was waiting on him when he got off of work with the good news. We went to dinner to celebrate and then I went back to my apartment in Cookeville and turned in my notice the next day at work.

July 4th weekend was my last full weekend at home. I'm so thankful it was a long holiday weekend, but it still felt like it flew by. I was trying to take it all in and spend as much time at home as I could. This weekend after that was my bachelorette party (I can't wait to share all about that!), and the next weekend was OUR WEDDING!
I told my new job in the interview about our wedding to just go on and get it out there and they were so supportive, and ended up letting me have 7 days total off! The Thursday and Friday before the wedding and the whole next week for our honeymoon.

My apartment in Cookeville is almost cleaned out! Matthew and I went to Cookeville as soon as we got off this past Friday so that we could pack stuff up and bring car loads to our apartment in Nashville. I finally have all my clothes at our new apartment!! YAY! We got the bathroom and kitchen completely cleaned out and we're going back this weekend to finish up the rest since my lease is up this Saturday. Our apartment is a big ole mess right now with all of my stuff laying around waiting to be put up and organized and my OCD is kicking in BIG time! I was very tempted to get up a couple of hours earlier this morning to start working on it all but decided sleep was better, haha!

Matthew and I joined the iPhone 6 world this past weekend! I was FINALLY available for an upgrade. I've been using my dad's old iPhone 4 and it was about to give out on me for good lol.
I know this is a really long post I just feel like I have so much to share!!
Happy Tuesday, friends!

Shelby Coats

Well, it's true. I'm a married woman! We've been HUSBAND and WIFE for 12 days and I am still on cloud 9! I truly can't even put into words how my heart has felt the past few days. I can't even describe how my heart feels when I look down at Matthew's left hand and see a ring there.

July 18th was the best day ever, and will forever hold a huge portion of my heart. Marriage is THE sweetest gift and I know we are just getting started on the wonderful adventure together. I came back to work this past Monday and have practically skipped out to my car as soon as I get off everyday, I just can't wait to get home and see Matthew! No more having to leave after visiting him for a couple of hours and go back to Cookeville or head home to Murfreesboro. It's like a sleepover every night with my best friend. THIS IS REAL LIFE Y'ALL!

Just keeping this short and sweet today! I did want to share this picture with you that my best friend snapped on her iPhone. I had no idea she was taking it. We were all in the dressing room and they had just fixed my dress so that my dad could come in and we could do our first look.  I absolutely adore this shot of my dress.

I can't imagine marrying Matthew in anything else. Our day was absolute perfection and I loved every single second I got to wear that dress. I'm dying to share all the details about our day, but I want to wait until I have some photos to go with my recaps.  It'll be worth the wait. ;)

Engagement Pictures- Part III

We made three outfit changes with our photographer in Cookeville. She said we could do as many outfit changes as we wanted but we decided three would be plenty lol.
We didn't make too many pictures in these outfits, only because we got pretty hot at this point, and this was the hottest outfit for both of us. I still love the ones we got though!!

Can we just talk about my ponytail for a minute?! I know it's crazy, Matthew literally tells me I am crazy every time I mention it lol, but I put my hair up in like two minutes in the nasty bathroom at Cane Creek Park. I was hot and starting to get sweaty and I just KNEW my hair would have a crease in it when I took it back down, but it didn't! Our photographer and my sister  were both amazed at how good it looked from putting it up that quick, while Matthew thought we were all crazy ;)
Side note- I have tried multiple times after that day and can't get my ponytail to look that good.
And yes, I just wrote a whole paragraph on my ponytail, #noshame
