Entryway Ideas

Every since we got the keys to our apartment I have been dying to decorate.
The Lord is teaching me patience on this one :)
 While Matthew has been baching it up at our place until I move in after we are married I have been searching Pinterest and blogs for decor ideas. One thing I really want to do is add a console table in our "entryway". Matthew liked the idea of it and is on board with it, too!  We don't really have an entryway because this is a one bedroom apartment but there is plenty of room for a console table.

I would love to have somewhere for us to drop our keys, phones, and mail all in one place when we come in, and make it easy to find these items on our way out. I also thought the idea of a mirror above the table on the wall would be cute and helpful. Last minute mirror checks before heading out for the day! Its a huge blank wall so a mirror would go perfectly there!
 If we add some cute decor to it and style it up a bit and I think it will really add to our living room as well.

I just LOVE it and love it even more that is was 50% off!

Now here is the console table we picked out! We found it on Amazon for a really good price, and it will match the color of our living room furniture!! 

So here is what we are thinking for our "entryway"

I am so excited and I've been looking at different ways to style it on Pinterest. There are so many cute ideas!

We also are wanting another one. Call us crazy but we love it!

This one would go in our dining area. We got the idea from the model apartment at our apartment complex when we did our first tour!

and this is our dining area now. We are wanting to put it on that back wall (beside the back of the door) I think it will also really add to our dining area. 

Here is the table we found on Amazon. It's black which will match out dining set perfectly!

 Both console tables are cheaper on Amazon. I found them on other websites for $100+  than they are on Amazon. Gotta love good ole Amazon!

Here is what we are thinking for this one.  Just something simple, probably not as much on it as the picture below but something similar to this. We don't wan't it to look cluttered.

Above it we are going to add some of my antique plates we have left over after our wedding

Except they won't be plastic plates ;)

We'll only put up between 6-8 plates, depending on the sized of them because I don't want it to be too much. 

And that's all the ideas we've been throwing around for console tables!

Friday Ramblings

Happy Friday! Since I have a lot to share I'll share in list form - Tonight I am going with the SOC to The Cumberland Caverns for a singing. I haven't been there since I was in the 5th grade so I am excited to go and see it again. Even better, a singing night, if y'all have been around here then you KNOW singing nights are my favorite.  Singing in a cave...can y'all imagine how that's going to sound?! - We are going Saturday to pick out the groomsmen suits! Well, we already have them picked out we are just going to get them. They are on sale at Men's Warehouse so they are getting a pretty good deal! - Matthew and I HAVE to get our passports this weekend. I don't know why we but we just keep forgetting about them.  - I am hoping to finalize our guest list by the end of next week, so I am going to work on it this weekend when I get some free time. I designed them and we are having them printed through Vistaprint and they are having a good sale going on. I have already priced them and with this sale we can get our invitations and RSVP for over $100 cheaper so we will be ordering them before this sale is over! Also,Vistaprint sends plain white envelopes for free! -The weather this weekend is supposed to be really nice and I am so looking forward to that! Bring on that warmer weather and sunshine!!!! - HAPPY 1ST DAY OF SPRING!!  Can't wait to break out my sandals and white pants :)

- Today is food day at work, and this months is a salad bar. I am a little too excited about this! Currently counting down the minutes until it's my lunch LOL - P-Hood (what Matthew and I call it) or also known as Parenthood...we are obsessed!! I remembered hearing a lot about it back in January when the finale aired so over the snow days I decided to start watching it. As of last night I am in the middle of season FOUR! It is so good and I got Matthew hooked on it, too! I usually can't get through an episode without tearing up lol

- Kirkland's...I can't stay out of that store!!!! We bought a mirror there this past week and it was on sale! I absolutely love it and can't wait to get it hung up! I'll share more on that next week! :) Have a good weekend!!

#CoatsApartment: Our new furniture!

I am finally sharing with y'all a little tour of our apartment with the furniture!! We came across a good deal that Matthew's parents told us about. Pretty much you can furnish a one bedroom home/apartment for a reasonable price. It's actually called "The big deal".  Here is what is included in that:

Includes 21 pieces:

  Includes sofa, loveseat, 3 tables and 2 lamps

  Includes dresser, mirror, chest, queen headboard, footboard, rails and nightstand

They have an online website we looked at first before going so we could kind of have an idea of what we were looking for. The store is pretty big and there is a lot of furniture to choose from but only certain pieces are included in "The big deal", and they have those all marked with a little tag to help out with that. Looking online and picking things out first definitely helped. We just went in there looked at it in person and tried out the couches to see if they were comfortable and then we were done! I have to be honest though, laying on the mattresses in the store both grossed me out and made me feel really awkward lol.  Living room This is the view when you walk in the door.

Ignore those cords, we still have some cord management to work on with everything! There is a white book case to the right of the fire place we plan on hiding those cords behind! I will update on that later lol.

The couches are a dark brown

Our end tables and coffee table might just be my favorite pieces of furniture, ever.

We were thinking about getting two couches instead of the couch and loveseat combo for more seating, but after we measured we realized we couldn't fit two couches. So couch and loveseat combo it was! I think it will be plenty of room though.

Dining Room  Walk right around the corner from the living room and you have our dining room!

 A simple black table with matching chairs. The chairs have a white cushion built into the seat which we LOVE. My dining set that I have at my apartment right now does not have cushions in the seats and can get a little uncomfortable after awhile.

There aren't any decorations up yet so the walls are really bare. Bedroom We found the bedding online at Bed Bath and Beyond and we both really liked it! We didn't want something too girly and we didn't want something that was too dark and looked like a guys comforter. So when I found this I really liked it and emailed Matthew the link and he liked it a lot too!

These two lamps were included in the deal and we put them in the bedroom since we got the other ones and they match the knobs on the furniture in there.

 There is a dresser and chest of drawers in there too, I don't know why I didn't think about making a picture of them lol. Like I said, I will update later!!

The furniture is not black like it looks in these pictures, it is a dark brown like the living room furniture. On the website it says "Dark Amber Finish" Here is the picture from the website that shows the color a little better.

And that's it! We love everything and I am dying to move in already!! Only 130 more days to go! Since we are on the third floor we paid to have it delivered. Matthew and I both agreed that was the best delivery fee we have EVER paid. I am SO excited to decorate, add some color in there, and make it ours!! #CoatsApartment: Our new furniture!

It's beginning to feel like spring...

LOL JK.  Or at least I feel that's what mother nature is saying. Today's high is 64 and there is a winter storm warning in affect for tomorrow night ;) 

OH WELL!

Just because it's not feeling like spring outside doesn't mean we can't act like it does, right?!

I made a trip to Kirkland's last Tuesday to do some browsing. Every since Matthew moved into our apartment I have been looking up different things on Pinterest and Kirkland's website to decorate.  Here lately I have been a little obsessed with Kirkland's!! Seriously, they have some of the cutest things, and I can usually find a coupon :) 

Well about a month ago when we were picking up our lamps at the Kirkland's close to our apartment I spotted the prettiest spring wreath. It wasn't on sale and wasn't a price I was willing to pay so I went on. Well last week when I went to Kirkland's in Cookeville they had the same one, AND it was on sale!! I could not pass it up!

When I went to see Matthew this past weekend I put it on our front door, and I forgot to take a picture so he sent me one this morning!

I remembered to take a picture of the doormat I told y'all about a couple of weeks ago, I just forgot to share it until now. It has Joshua 24:15 on it, which is one of Matthew's favorite verses. I love it!

Also, we bought lamps! I posted this picture on my Instagram back on Valentine's day weekend but here they are

They are perfect, add some color in the living room. We have dark furniture so I love how they look in there. Also, I peak at some of our new furniture. I can't wait to show y'all all of our new furniture!!!!
