Apartment bathroom makeover

It has been a work in progress but I am almost finished with our bathroom makeover in our apartment!!
I have all the big things finished and now I just want to add some fun prints to the wall.

Sadly I didn't take any before pictures
but I can describe to you what it was before...not much.
There were no shelves and a plastic pink shower curtain.

So I wanted to touch things up a little bit.
I went with these colors

So let me just show you how it looks now!!

The view when you first walk in
(sorry about the date stamp I forgot to take it off)
I found this adorable shower curtain at Target and it was on sale. It was the perfect color to go with the color scheme.

Our sink area, my side is the left. I saw the idea on Pinterest to put my hair dryer and wand in a book holder and then I got that cute pink container with gold polka dots at Target. Both of them from the dollar section in Target!

Matthew and Andrew added these three shelves that I purchased from Wal-Mart.
They were pretty cheap and just what I needed.

I love what they did to the bathroom and are perfect for extra storage!!

On the top and bottom shelf I had the two wicker baskets on the side

and put one longer one in the middle.

I fell IN love with these little baskets and bought the last 5 they had back in the summer.
I didn't know what I was going to use them for but I knew I wanted them, ha!
Well when I decided to put these shelves up I was trying to think of something to put on them and I dug these out of the closet. Couldn't think of anything else that would look better!!
and the last thing that was added was this shelf over the door for our towels and rags. Because I don't know about you but there is no room in my tiny apartment closet for my towels, way too many clothes for that!!
I saw this idea on Pinterest as well.

I can't believe I hadn't thought about this sooner than I did when I first moved in. Definitely comes in handy!

I painted this for the bathroom.
This saying has always been in my grandmothers bathroom and it was always so catchy. I thought it would be fun to add a piece from her home to mine.

Do you have any small bathroom ideas? I'd love to hear about them!!

  1. Very cute, Shelby! I love that saying -- I always find it comforting have a little something from my family's homes. Reminds me of (home) home!

  6. recycle the ice cream buckets..they can hold almost everything under the sun...I use mine in the bathroom to hold cotton balls, cotton pads and Q-tips (each in a smaller open container) you can also use them to hold sanitary items while keeping it all dry and dust-free on a shelf or under the sink. good DIYing

  7. Your bathroom is very cute. I would advise not using the exposed cotton balls but as a decor they are very cute.

  8. You did a gorgeous makeover with your bathroom, Shelby! The color scheme that you chose created a relaxing ambiance there. Usually, redesigning it can be a little tricky. But I am glad you installed those shelves because it made more room for your stuff in your bathroom.

  9. I would suggest using a mason jar to store the cotton balls. That might even fit in the wire container you already have. I love the ideas. I plan to add the shelves above the toliet now. Im a fan of the wicker baskets also. Keeping the style simple helps so much with avoiding an area that looks cluttered.
