HALLOWEEN | 2017

We were a little more prepared for Halloween this year than last year, thank goodness! I picked up some candy the weekend before, and Matthew had a found the cutest candy dish a few weeks before that I decorated. We found Reagan's costume weeks ago (when you don't have kids, your puppy is your child lol) and I had been looking forward to dressing her up in it. She was ADORABLE.

I wrote 'Trick or Treat' on the candy dish and added spider webs on the sides.

Matthew left for Knoxville Sunday night, but ended up finishing the job early so he headed home around lunch time on Tuesday. I was pumped because he was getting home earlier than expected and it meant he could hand out candy with me! We had our favorite crock-pot recipe going, the candy ready, our chairs set up, and since it was cold this year, Matthew plugged in our small heater! I talked my sister into coming over after she got off so to pass out candy with us, too! I found the cutest Halloween apron at Pier 1 a few weeks ago to wear while handing out candy.
We ended up bringing blankets out because it got even colder!
We had a ton of adorable trick or treaters again this year, which always makes it so fun! My favorite this year was the little girl who was dressed up as a bumble bee. When she walked up and saw Reagan dressed up as a bumble bee she got really excited and started squealing lol it was adorable. We handed out candy for about 2 hours and then called it a night. We went inside for dessert and to watch Hocus Pocus!

Monday night I made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for a fun treat after we finished handing out candy, and my sister brought apple cider.

It really was the best way to end a fun night!

HALLOWEEN | 2016

Yesterday people dressed up and decorated at work, but sadly my team was just too busy this year to participate. It was fun seeing all the other teams decorations and costumes though! Fair warning, all pictures in this post are from my iPhone. Maybe one day I will remember to break out my nice camera!

One team did a tiki island theme and all wore Hawaiian florals.
And another team did a pirate theme and they all dressed as pirates!

After work I rushed to Wal-Mart because I had completely forgotten to pick up Halloween candy to hand out...complete fail. Well I get to where the Halloween candy used to be and it had been replaced by Christmas candy...insert melt down in the middle of Wal-Mart right here. Thankfully they had a small section of Halloween candy left..on the other side of the store. I also realized we didn't have a bowl or anything to hand the candy out in so I picked up the only Halloween pumpkin bucket that I saw.

A beautiful Halloween sunset

When I got home I realized it lit up and was a little too excited about that lol. Matthew had to work late, so I was running around like a mad woman, trying to get Reagan out and fed while setting up our chairs and candy outside. On top of all that it was burning up, which didn't help since I had changed into my Predator's long sleeve pullover to be a "Pred's super fan", literally broke out into a sweat trying to get everything ready before trick or treaters started coming around. My neighbor, who has lived in our neighborhood since it was first built and has done this for over 10 years was already sitting outside in his driveway with everything ready for trick or treaters when I got home...he got a good laugh at me running around like I was crazy, I'm sure. ;) Thankfully Matthew got home around the time we started getting a lot of visitors!!
Here is our little setup!
Nothing fancy, just some candy and two of our picnic table chairs from our back deck area lol

We had probably around 50 trick or treaters before we ran out of candy and called it a night, but it was a lot of fun and we enjoyed seeing all of the cutest little trick or treaters! My favorites: the little girl dressed as cat in the hat, super woman, a little fireman, and a little ballerina.

We held Reagan for the most part, but she kept whining because she wanted to get down and run around the yard, so when we had a break between trick or treaters we would let her down to play. All of or trick or treaters loved her and all wanted to pet her, it was adorable.

She was guarding the candy!

After about an hour and a half we were done and went inside for dinner. I got some meat from the deli while at Walmart for a quick dinner of sandwich wraps and chips. We settled in for the night and watched The Profit until it was time for bed. Reagan was out as soon as we sat down for dinner lol

It was a fun (and very hot!) Halloween, and I know next year to be 100% prepared because trick or treaters like to start early!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN...

...from our cute little pumpkin!

We are staying in tonight and handing out candy. It's our first Halloween in our new home/neighborhood, and we have been told that we have quite a few trick or treaters, so I am very excited!

I hope you all have a great and safe Halloween!

He's the Cory to my Topanga

Ever since I was young I never understood anything about the world
and anything that happened in my life. The only thing that ever made
sense to me was you and how I feel about you. Thats all Ive ever
known and thats enough. Thats enough for me for the rest of my life.

We had so much fun at the SOC Halloween party last night with everyone.
All of the costumes were great!
 Happy Halloween!

I may or may not have listened to Christmas music while getting ready this morning...

but before I switch over to all Christmas mode I have to share with you about Halloween!!

**I actually typed up this post LAST Friday and just forgot to post it...oops! So act like you are reading this the day after Halloween**

and all the SOC girls!!

Overall it was a great night and it was so much fun dressing up and making our costumes!!
We couldn't find overalls like we wanted so we went with suspenders, but we both think they turned out well! Matthew actually dyed our shirts and my tights yellow! He has found a new love for dyeing things and wants to dye all his clothes...haha!

What does the mouse say?

// H A P P Y  H A L L O W E E N //

Usually I'm not too excited for Halloween because it's just another day for me. At home we live too far out in the country to have any trick or treaters and I've never been to a Halloween party other than the ones we used to have a school. (I promise I'm not too lame)
And last year I had class. While everyone was out having fun I was learning about the history or theatre and he kept us the whole time. Crazy y'all just crazy!!

Well after 21 years ya girl is going to her first ever Halloween/costume party!!!!
I am just so excited I can't even stand it!!
I have been looking on Pinterest searching for the perfect couples costumes probably since August.
Back in August when I talked to Matthew about what we wanted to be he straight up laughed for a good 5 minutes and thought I was joking but then he realized I was being serious and looked with me a little bit. LOL bless his heart. I don't know how he puts up with me and my crazy ideas sometimes but I couldn't think of anyone else who could!! LOVE you bear!

I can't tell you what we decided on being tonight until tomorrow or Friday but if you are following me on Instagram you will find out tonight :)

But I will share with you what I dressed up as for work today but first let me give you a little back story on this...I found out yesterday afternoon about 4 o'clock that we can dress up at work as long as it's appropriate. I immediately thought of being a cat. I just wanted something simple because of my headset and because it was already 4 o'clock and we had dinner plans. church and our guys intramural soccer championship game for when I got off. So I text a few girls and asked if they had cat ears.
No one had any. Zero. Awesome.
So I told Matthew after the soccer game I needed to run to Wal-Mart to find cat ears.
Y'all the look on his face when I told him that was like I just smashed his PS3 with a sledgehammer.
HE. HATES. WAL-MART.
with every fiber of his being, hates it.
So I told him I would just drop him off at his apartment or he could just sit in the car but he said he didn't want me going by myself so late at night.
So we ran to Wal-Mart and of course the Halloween section was destroyed and everyone had the same idea as I did. I found one last cat kit. Except it wasn't just a cat kit it was a leopard cat kit and it came with a leopard mask, tail and collar. I wasn't too happy with it but I got it anyways.

Well after really hatin on that kit I got my roommate told me that our other roommate had mouse ears. So I borrowed those from her and that is how I became...

Avery the Averitt mouse.
Presh I know. Picture taken in the bathroom at work.
 Keepin it classy y'all

I drove to work like this, ears and all. It was great comic relief for all the cars stopped next to me at red lights I'm sure. I have decided work is better when you get to dress up.
P.S. I did my hair and makeup in 45 minutes this morning. I am kicking this Thursday in the butt.
Be safe tonight!
