FRIDAY NO. 34

The time has come!

We are picking up our puppy TODAY!! To say we are excited would be an understatement!!!! We have been looking forward to this day for over a month! Over the past month a few puppy things started trickling in here and there, and we have made a few PetSmart runs. Finally, on Wednesday night we set up the last little bit that we needed before we bring her home. I'm not going to share her name with y'all today, it's a surprise, but check back Monday for her name and a few hundred pictures of her.

Her crate, puppy playpen, and feeding dish...how adorable?! We have puppy things in our home, and the best part, they belong to our puppy!

I will be honest and say that we both kinda freaked out this week. We know getting a puppy means some big changes for us. We are so used to leaving the house whenever we want, for as long as we want. No responsibility whatsoever. When we first got married we talked about getting a puppy, but luckily we decided to wait. I'm so thankful we have had a little over a year just the two of us, without any responsibilities, and that we didn't jump into being puppy parents right after we got married. However, we've been preparing ourselves for the new responsibility that a new puppy brings and we are READY!!

If you have ever brought home a new puppy, I would love to hear your best advice!! On your mark, get set, GO! We can't wait to show off the new member of our little family!

PUMPKIN CENTERPIECES + (2015) FRIENDSGIVING INVITATION

I am pulling two posts that I wrote last fall to share with you today. It's that time of year to decorate for all things fall, and to start planning for Friendsgiving, if you are hosting! I shared all about hosting as a young wife, and you can read those posts, here.

Last year I decided to make our fall centerpieces for Friendsgiving. I ended up liking them so much that I left them out until it was time to decorate for Christmas. They were really simple to make, and fit perfectly on our tables.
You can find the supplies that you'll need and step by step directions (with pictures) on how to make these centerpieces, here!

Next up is the invitation that I designed for Friendsgiving last year. I went with the Friends theme and they were a hit with all of our guests, especially my sister, who is obsessed with the show. ;)
I designed the invitation in PicMonkey and printed them out at home to mail to all of our guests.

I have already started picking up some things for Friendsgiving this year, and I am getting very excited. I designed the invitation for this year a few weeks ago, and I will be sharing it next week, so stay tuned!

Are any of you hosting Friendsgiving or even Thanksgiving this year? I would love to hear about it!

WEEKEND RECAP

I mentioned on Friday that we were dog sitting all weekend, and sadly, Mila is going back home today. We had fun playing with her and really enjoyed having a dog in the house. That's a good thing because we get to bring our puppy home THIS weekend!

Friday afternoon we grabbed dinner at Sonic, sometimes you are just need a good cheeseburger and fries. Our Sonic is really close to a park so we decided to take our dinner and Mila over there and eat. The weather was great and Mila enjoyed getting out of the house. We got back to the house and decided to have a lazy night, that included catching up on episode 3 of Designated Survivor (anyone watching that?? It is so good!), and Matthew making me watch Anchor Man while I worked on a chalkboard for our front porch setup. I made the mistake of telling him a couple of weeks ago I had never watched Anchor Man, so Friday night he was determined that we were going to watch it. Thankfully, he could tell how uninterested I was in it (LOL) and turned it off about 20 minutes into the movie.

Saturday we woke up and got ready for my college roommate's wedding. It was at 10 that morning and it was a very pretty wedding! I loved her dress and the brunch at the reception was the icing on the cake. When I first moved to Cookeville we all lived together in good ole apartment D, and now we all three live in different towns, so it was nice getting to catch up very briefly.

After the wedding we headed back home and got working around the house. We borrowed my dad's truck for the weekend to haul off some big boxes that have been in our garage and to get some wood for our farmhouse table. We ended up taking two big loads to the dump. So happy to have that checked off our list. We still have some work to do in the garage, but we're getting there.

After that Matthew mowed the yard while I picked weeds and then began working on front porch fall setup. I had ideas in my mind of how I wanted our front porch to look and I was so happy to see it come to life after some playing around with it all.
Those mums are my absolute favorite, and the only mums I will buy for our front porch. They are from a small place in Cookeville, and my sister was there last weekend and picked them up for me. Below is a picture with our garden flag, the wind kept blowing so it was hard to get a good picture lol.

Saturday afternoon I made steak and baked potatoes for dinner. It was my first time making steaks and it was very obvious. They were smoking pretty good, so good that I set the smoke detectors off. We had to open some windows and the back door,  it was quite lovely in our house the rest of the night. At least we know our smoke detectors work properly ;)
Later that night our best friends, Ethan and Rachel, came over and we decided to make a Dairy Queen run for some ice cream.

Sunday afternoon we cleaned out the garage even more and around the house some. Ethan and Rachel came back over and we all went to Lowe's to get the wood for our farmhouse table. We started working on it a little before church. Matthew and Ethan were able to get a good bit done before we had to leave.
After we decided on Mexican for dinner and then came back to the house to watch the debate.

Monday afternoon I came home to a beautiful sight...Matthew and Ethan put the top of our table together. It looked so good and we were so excited!
I made breakfast for dinner while we watched The Voice, and after it was over Rachel and I got to sanding. We were able to sand both legs and the top of the table!
We are so close!!

Ethan and Rachel are headed back home today since today is their last day of fall break, but we enjoyed having them over throughout this past weekend! Matthew and I plan on working on the table as much as we can the rest of this week. We already have the stain picked out, and we're excited to have it finished. :)

FRIDAY NO. 33

This has been 100% accurate for this past week, here in Nashville.

Tuesday night we went to the last preseason Pred's game. Sadly, we lost in overtime, but it was still fun! This handsome guy was 100% in his element Tuesday night.
7 days until the actual season starts!!!!

Our recliners delivered yesterday right on time and we LOVE them! This was the picture I took right after we got them set up, so they didn't have the feet on them yet. We actually ended up moving the living room around last night so I need to take a picture of our new setup. They said beige online, but they are definitely more of a gray. Thankfully they still match our living room colors so that isn't a problem. Hello comfy recliners!!!!

I shared over 15 printables yesterday for you to create a Christmas binder of your own, in a way to help you plan and stay organized this holiday season.

We are dog sitting this weekend for our friends, and we are not complaining one bit! This is Mila, and she made herself right at home in our bed last night. We're excited to play with her all weekend long.
As I was heading out the door this morning this was the look she was giving me, so of course I had to go back in and give her some more goodbye hugs!

After church Wednesday night we went straight to Home Goods to look in their animal section. They have so many cute things for puppies, but we refrained, and only bought our puppy a feeding dish and some waste bags. It was definitely very exciting shopping for OUR puppy!

And last but not least, I got to finally see inside of Matthew's office! YAY! I met him at his office before the game on Tuesday afternoon so that we could ride together to the game. After the game when he was dropping me back off at my car we decided to run in and he gave me an office tour. Of course I made him pose for a picture in his cube...Pred's attire and all lol! He actually moved cube's yesterday so I think he has a whole new setup now, but it was still fun to see when he works.

We are hoping to work on some house projects this weekend, dog sit, hangout with our best friends, Ethan and Rachel, who are in town for fall break, and go to my college roommates wedding!
