CHARLESTON 2017 | DAY 3

Finally getting around to posting about our last full day & favorite day in Charleston! I recapped day one here and day two here. Our last full day in Charleston was Tuesday, July 18th...which just so happens to be our anniversary! We spent the whole day at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens and there could not have been a better way to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary than in this beautiful place.

We got there soon after it opened Tuesday morning and we had only planned on spending a few hours there, but we ended up staying around 7 hours...and we still didn't get a chance to see everything. Guess that just means we'll have to go back to see the rest. ;) This is also a picture heavy post, but when you spend 7 hours in one of the prettiest places ever, that's perfectly okay!

We did the trolley tour of the whole plantation, a boat tour, a slave house tour, the petting zoo, and then walked through a couple of the gardens. There was a ton of wild life on the plantation. We saw everything from 12ft alligators to peacocks to deer.

If you look closely at the picture below that is Matthew walking in front of the house on his phone looking for me lol. He had gone to the restroom so I decided to walk around and explore/take pictures and he didn't spot me across the front lawn.

I had some serious porch envy.

There weren't many people on our boat tour so we were able to get up and walk around to see more. Our tour guide was hilarious and pointed out all the baby alligators as we passed them.

It's not everyday you get a kiss from a deer lol

I was highly obsessed with this bridge and it's surrounding areas...absolutely beautiful.

We had our anniversary picture made in front of this bridge as well. I love this little tradition we have started! Also, when we got up from sitting there we looked over and saw a really big alligator floating around. Pretty scary!

We ate dinner on the plantation and ended up taking it into the theater to watch some of the history on the plantation and to cool off, it was pretty hot that afternoon! After we left the plantation we headed back to our hotel to rest and change for our anniversary dinner.

After dinner we walked around Battery Park and then along some of the old historic houses. They are gorgeous and I loved everything about them.

On the way back to the hotel we stopped at a local place for some ice cream to end the night. We woke up bright and early the next morning, packed our stuff and headed to Callie's Little Hot Biscuit (thanks for the recommendation, Ashley!!) before hitting the road to head home.

WE LOVED CHARLESTON!
