Jewelry Habit

HAPPY MONDAY!
It's my first day back to work from Christmas break and the last Monday of 2013 and I am determined to make it a good one! BOOM. Take that Monday.

Jewelry Habit Auctions sent me this adorable black and white houndstooth cardigan.

What I really loved about this cardigan is that it's so big and comfy...
literally it can wrap around me.
I paired it with black cardigans and my brown riding boots and it is the perfect outfit!

They were also so gracious and sent me a pair of red earrings...
I wanted to show Matthew my new earrings that matched my outfit perfectly and for some reason I just couldn't wait until I got off so I decided to take a quick selfie at work and send it to him and right as I snapped the picture a coworker saw me making this in my cubicle at work...awkward but it made for a good laugh.

Wellllllllllll....the wonderful ladies over at Jewelry Habit Auctions sent me TWO houndstooth black and white cardigans and TWO pair of those red earrings. You know what that means...I get to give one each away to you!!
WHAT WHAT!
and you thought receiving presents was over for the year. Wrong!
Don't forget to enter...you have until next Monday!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

You can also find them on Facebook to see all the latest pieces they put up.

Southern comfort food- dumplins recipe

If you missed my post from yesterday about my Nanny's red cinnamon apples then you need to check it out really quick!
These two dishes are perfect sides to serve at Thanksgiving and Christmas or anytime for that matter.

Nanny has been making these dumplins since before I was born as well and over the past few years I have been watching and helping her make these.
The recipe is very simple and is too good not to make.

What you will need:
-8 cans of biscuits
- 4 (32oz) cartons of chicken broth
-Salt (not pictured)
-Pepper (not pictured)

Step 1: Pour all the broth into a big/deep pot.
Step 2: Bring broth to a boil & then start pulling the biscuit dough apart
and put them into the boiling chicken broth

Step 3: Let them cook until they are finished (take one out to check the middle)
Stir often so they don't stick to the bottom of the pot.
Step 4: ENJOY!!

Red cinnamon apples// Recipe

What you will need:
2 boxes of Red Hots.
1 3lb bag Gala apples.
2 cups of Sugar.

That's all it takes to make this delicious dish. My nanny has made these since before I was born and we only have them at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I make these every year to take to Thanksgiving with Matthew's family and most of his family really likes them. Some of them don't like the texture (ahem...Matthew)

How to make them:
Step 1: Peel all the apples, slice and wash them.
Step 2: Add the apples to a pot of water and let them come to a boil

Step 3: Once they come to a boil add 2 cups of sugar & 2 boxes of Red Hots

Step 4: Let them cook until they become soft.
Step 5: When you are taking them up you can drain some of the liquid but I wouldn't drain too much.
Step 6: E-N-J-O-Y

Tomorrow I will be sharing with you nanny's dumplins...they are to die for :)
