What I love about marriage

I thought it would be fun to list a few things that I'm loving about marriage. It's only been a few weeks, but we are definitely learning and growing more every day together. I am constantly thanking God for this sweet gift of marriage.

Starting and ending the days together. I absolutely love these sweet times together. Sitting at our table together in the mornings talking over breakfast about our upcoming day, sitting at our table together talking over dinner about how our day went. Confiding in one another, sharing struggles and emotions, dreaming about the plans God has in store for us, It is all so special.

Doing dishes, grocery shopping, etc. Regular every day tasks, but Matthew makes everything SO much fun. He is seriously the funniest person I know and always has a good come back or hilarious remark to just about everything. He is constantly making me laugh no matter what we're doing, and I love it. I wouldn't want to tag team dishes with anyone else.

Church. I can't explain how much I love going to church with my HUSBAND. We have been going to church together since we've been together, as that is where we met, but still, there is just something about so exciting about it. Also, we are SO excited about getting to know the other young married couples in our class. Sunday's are so nice to, when we can actually relax. I love taking Sunday naps with Matthew.

Figuring our pet peeves. He doesn't like it when I put the toilet paper on the roll the wrong way. Which is a little odd to me, as I have never paid any attention to that. I also didn't think guys paid attention to that kind of thing lol. Turns out they do, and I'm the toilet paper culprit in this relationship. I don't like it when he doesn't push his chair up at the table when we are finished eating. We have a small dining area and it's very noticeable when he doesn't lol. These things are fun to figure out. A lot of times when I get annoyed about something I try to remind myself that I am lucky to be annoyed by something he does because that means he is here to annoy me with it. He's not overseas, injured and in the hospital, sick, or traveling for work a lot. I am thankful for these tiny annoyances...I just have to remind myself that at the time ;) We are getting into the groove of things, this is only natural since we have never lived with each other before. It's all about learning each other, and I am thankful for the opportunity to do that with Matthew!

Meals together. As I have shared before I am meal planning for us. To save on time and money and in hopes of eating somewhat better than fast food! At the end of the month I try and meal plan for the next month. There are some weeks we follow it SO well and then other weeks we might follow two or three days lol. It's all about timing and what we have going on. Things come up at the last minute, we don't feel like cooking anything, we got off work late, etc. I am loving learning to cook for us, and it is so much fun to sit down and share these meals together. These are some of my favorite times of the day.

Being goofy together. I absolutely LOVE when Matthew and I get in these hyper moods and are extremely goofy. From chasing each other around our small apartment to dancing in the kitchen, I love every second of it.

These are just a few things out of the endless amount of blessing that have already come from marriage. Daily, I am overwhelmed with gratefulness and appreciation for what God is doing in our lives. I never want to take these small things for granted, even when we've been married for 50 years. I want to make lists like this forever!
