and just like that

Matthew moved out.
We finished packing up his apartment last night and then he headed home. I knew this day was coming and I've been dreading it in a way. I can't be too upset about it because I know how excited he is. Matthew starts work on Monday in Nashville and I couldn't be any happier for him. He is ready and has talked about it a lot over the past couple of weeks, which eases my mind a little about this next season of life we are entering in. He will be moving back home with his parents for awhile. His plan is to live there and save up some and then we will begin looking at places that we will move into together once we get married. If we find somewhere sooner than our wedding then he will move in first and I'll move in after we are married. The commute from his parents home to his work is going to be quite the haul. It will be a little over an hour both ways. In Nashville traffic.

My plan is to stay in Cookeville until our wedding. My apartment lease isn't up until the very end of March and then I just pay month by month, I don't have to sign a new year lease, Praise the Lord! I could not have found a better apartment for me. I will continue working at the job I'm at now but sometime in the spring I will begin looking for a job in the area we will be living in once we are married. Again, more changes. It's beginning to look like 2015 is going to be a year full of changes, but I'm excited for them.

What does that mean for us?
We will go back to seeing each other on weekends. I cringe thinking about it because that's what we did for the first 3 years of our relationship. It's definitely not going to be easy after living in the same town for the past year and a half, but we will make it work just like we did before. We are also SO thankful that we will be only an hour away, and that we'll get to see each other on the weekends. Like Matthew keeps telling me this is only temporary. I like to think this will make the months leading up to our wedding even sweeter, and make us appreciate our time together even more than we already do.

Here are some pictures from different events/times over the past year and a half in Cookeville. I tried to put them in the order that they happened!
It's even better knowing that the next time we will be living in the same town will mean that we are MARRIED! Please keep him in your prayers as he transitions into this next phase of life and starts work on Monday!!

  1. It's definitely not going to be easy just seeing each other on weekends but just think, once you're married- it's SLEEPOVER PALS FOR LIFE! ;) and trust me, that's the best!!!

  3. This will be the year of SO many changes and excitement for you, so just remember that wedding day will be here before you know it. Seriously- your engagement will fly so treasure every moment of it :) Jared and I only saw each other on the weekends (and sometimes only every other) for about a year and a half so I know it's not the BEST scenario, but just makes those weekends count!
